I had a similar issue, but it wasn't related to the wireless portion of the Internet access. You might have my same issue.
The problem was that my ISP (Internet Service Provider) set my Internet speed at an unsupported level. The Internet speed was literally too fast! The problem was that the speed was not supported because of the relay distance. This meant that at peak hours (at night) when the Internet is mot likely to be used I would lose my connection quite frequently and on a regular basis.
Upon calling my ISP they managed to downgrade my connection to get me within the optimal speed supported by the local telephone lines. Afterward we no longer encountered the issue.

This could be wireless interference, particularly since it happens more at certain times of day. Does changing the router channel and/or moving the router help at all?
