I had the same problem and pressed every button I could. I stumbled across the solution eventually. Turn the unit off but not the ignition of the car. Make sure the time is displayed by pressing the clock button. Then press and hold the function (F) button for a few seconds and that takes you into the clock reset option (plus lots of other confusing shit). Good luck.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4243N wont burn dvds

Hi there,

Try uninstalling the Driver in Device Manager: in XP or earlier: Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware Tab/Device Manager, or in Vista & 7: Start/Control Panel/Device Manager.

Once in Device Manager click on the + sign that is in front of 'DVD/CD ROM drives' to open it up, then right click on the model of the Optical Drive in question.

Click Properties/Driver Tab/Uninstall (Advanced) & this will remove the driver if it is corrupt. Restart your system & the Hardware Manager will recognise the Optical Drive & install the necessary Driver.

If this doesn't solve your dillema then I hope that you have a warranty. Good luck in trying.

Kindest regards,

When i burn a cd it plays as one track and no sound comes out.

Try going to the burn tab and right clikcing it, setting the burn type as audio cd instead of dvd or data disk

A new one will come with a new face plate, but you could try checking pawn shops for a used one. Prices will vary.

Trying to find cd to record for a philips Cdr 770 cd problems

Open the unit (if you dare) and change the jumpers on the back of the playback unit. Now you can also use normal CDR's.

Yes, I'm sure Alpine will sell you another face but there is still the option of repairing the broken face at a good repair shop. Of course getting a new face is the easiest (read most expensive) way to get you going again.
