Question about Toshiba Televison & Video
I purchased a toshiba 52hmx95 on 02/18/06.I am now on my third dlp lamp and am highly disappointed in this tv. The first lamp went out in May of 2006 only three months after the purchase. The second lamp lasted a little longer though not nearly as long as Toshiba projected. The first lamp was replaced by Toshiba but I had to purchase the second lamp.Posting Date Trans Date Type Description Expense Category Amount2/20/2008 2/20/2008 Payment ACH PMT - THANK YOU Miscellaneous -2/3/2008 1/31/2008 Purchase DLP LAMPS Household $176.00 The above shows when I purchased the second lamp. The serial number for my tv is 26403675. I am of the opinion that Toshiba should send me a bulb to replace the second bulb that burned out. In the event Toshiba doesn't replace the bulb, I can assure you that you will have lost a customer. I also have a 32"toshiba lcd and a toshiba vcr/dvd player. So I have been a good customer for Toshiba and expect the same in return.Terry Gillespie608 E Butler RdMauldin SC 29662 firstname.lastname@example.org--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take off the back, and take out screws holding in the light engine. Look at new light engine, and the old one you will have to take off a couple of things that your new engine wont come with. It is very easy to change. Any questions please ask.

DLP TVs work projecting light throught a tube covered with mirrors, called the light tunnel.
The gray shadow it is something in the middle of the light tunnel, probably a mirror that has gone out of place when you moved the TV.

Fan is available at https://www.encompassparts.com/webwiz/wwiz.asp?wwizmstr=WEB.SEE&partnumber=6475656&smodel=52HM95 for about $80.00. Replacement should be as simple as unplugging the fan cord and removing a couple screws to remove. Do the work with the unit unplugged from the wall. Reverse the procedure to install the new unit.
Thanks for using FixYa and the great rating.
