SOURCE: hP officejet wireless 6500 printer won't print

Yes I will tell you why Kodak photo paper is a little thicker in size and you should not get this same error message if you use hp photo paper or regular photo paper.See of this helps.....

Issue The Out of Paper message appears on the computer and the product stops picking up or feeding paper. Solution Step one: Reset the product

  1. Without turning the product off, remove the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
  3. If the product is not already on, use the On button to turn it on.
Step two: Check the condition of the paper and reload it
  1. Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent.
  2. Make sure that all the paper is the same size and type. Because only one type of paper can be used in the product at a time, paper types should never be mixed.
  3. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
  4. Make sure that the stack of paper to be loaded in the product contains no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 sheets of paper.
NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the product.
  5. Insert the stack of paper into the product and gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper. Make sure that the paper is completely inserted into the product and can be picked up by the paper rollers.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time, into the product and then try printing again. If the issue persists, continue with the next step.
Step three: Adjust the paper settings in the print driver The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
  1. Open a document in the program being used to print.
  2. Click File , click Print , and then click Properties . The product Properties dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper size from the Size is drop-down menu.
  5. Choose the appropriate paper type from the Type is drop-down menu.
  6. Click OK and then click OK again to print the document..
  7. If the issue is not resolved, continue with the next step.
Step four: Clean the rollers
  1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the access door to gain access to the rollers. Depending on the model, this is usually the rear access door. See the product user guide for information about locating the rollers.
  3. Clean the rubber rollers with a lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with water.
  4. Make sure that any paper rollers that rest on the input tray, which are located behind the back rollers, are cleaned. A clean cotton swab, lightly moistened with water, might be necessary to reach these rollers.
  5. Close the access door and plug in the power cord.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.
Step five: Service the product If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product. CauseAny of the following issues can cause the error message to appear:
  • The paper trays are empty or overloaded.
  • The paper is curled.
  • The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the input tray face down.
  • The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers.
  • The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.
  • The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product.
  • The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
  • The rubber paper-feed rollers are coated with dust.

SOURCE: copier is making a noise

The Automatic Document Feeder, or ADF, on your Brother MFC-8840d may show one of two error messages on the display -- "Check Original" or "Paper Jam" -- when the ADF has a paper jam. As with any printer, to fix a paper jam on a Brother MFC-8840d, you must pull the paper from the area where it is jammed. Typically, the paper jams at the top of the unit where it begins feeding through the unit or inside the ADF as it feeds out. No matter which area you're dealing with, accessing the paper and fixing the jam shouldn't take long.
1. Determine where the paper is jammed in the ADF on your Brother MFC-8840d -- in the top or bottom of the unit.

2. Access the paper. If the paper is jammed in the top, open and flip down the cover on the left side of the ADF. If the paper is jammed in the lower part of the unit, lift up the document cover.
3. Grasp the paper on both sides and carefully pull it toward the right side of the machine and away from the feeder -- up slightly and right if working from the top; down and right if working from the bottom. If the paper rips and the remaining piece or pieces are too small for you to grasp with your fingers, access them from the opposite side or remove them with tweezers.
4. Return the ADF or document cover to its original position once you've removed all of the paper.
5. Push the "Stop/Exit" button to reset the printer to remove the error message from the display so you can start printing again.
I hope you find it very helpful.

Thanks

My HP Photosmart 3310 will not pick-up A4 glossy photo paper in the main tray. 6x4 works fine in the photo tray

Your printer might have opening area for clearing paper jams, also on that area there are some rounded parts that do actual picking-up of paper. Clean those parts with some non-agresive cleaning agent and try again.

Efforts to print 4x6 borderless print result in only top part of photo paper being used and top third of photo being cut off

First thing to try (and I'm assuming you're attempting to print a photo within HP Image Zone & have already selected the 4x6 photo tray? Hint: can be done via printer, properties, printing shortcuts) is to change the 'more options' directly below where you'd selected the 4x6 image size and then change to 'shrink to fit' vs. the default 'crop to fit'... Additional thoughts includes rotating the image (can be done directly on the preview screen...)
