Eject error

I get and eject ^ 2 error when I turn on the vcr. It has never had a tape in it. I have a dvd connected to the front ports.
When I turn the unit it on, I receive this errror and then it shuts down.

this did not work. error is still there

Wizthe vcr needs to be unplugged and left for about a day to reset itself.then plugged in back this will adjust the error.
