Question about Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900U 19" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Ocassional flickering I love this monitor. However, just recently... this past weekend the monitor will flicker about 4 to 5 times a day. It will only flicker once then it will work fine for a while then it will flicker again. I really hope this isn't a sign that this thing is dying. I've had a new computer since August '06 and this monitor has been woking fine with it until just the other day. Any thoughts.....?

Re: Ocassional flickering

Not sure what the problem is, but am experiencing the same symptoms every few minutes on a Mitsu Diamond Pro 91TXM, just retrieved from storage after 7 years. How's your screen holding up since April?

The flickering is most likely the florescent backlight having a hard time starting, Just like in a light fixture, as it gets old, it takes longer to warm up to get full functionality.
If under warranty, contact Dell for a replacement, if not, then when it becomes untenable, replace the monitor. Prices are dropping drastically, an new 20 or 22 In can be bought for about $150 or less

Monitor screen shaking and flickering

Check to make sure the cables are connected tightly. Wiggle the cable, does it get better or worse? Might need a new cable. And reseat the video card inside the computer. If that doesn't fix it, then yes you will probably need a new monitor.
