Question about Garmin nuvi 250W GPS Receiver
Volume level at 80% and not muted. FM transmitter not enabled.
This will work--go to Tools, Settings, Language and then select a Language that has TTS following it--this is the text to speech choice. Choose English TTS Jill if you like to hear the woman.

Go to TOOLS, SETTINGS, LANGUAGE then RESTORE, be sure it reads ENGLISH.

Make sure language settings are "english' not blank under tools

I had the same problem after I had my Nuvi 750 for a few months. The voice just stopped. I called Garmin and they replaced it under warranty.
