When I run my dishwasher, the water comes up in the sink, which slowly drains away, but then after washing there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher

I had this same problem on a different model LG. The manual will tell you to check the drain hose. Other "reviews" on the web will tell you that they have replace the main board, motor assembly, and other parts ($$$$). Check the hose first to make sure it is not blocked. On mine I also removed the internal spray unit to make sure nothing had blocked the drain from that direction. The solution to my problem came from another FixYa responder who said that on some of the models before 2007, they had a problem with wires inside the door. Take off the door panel and check for broken wires. The inside door panel has a tar type insulation. On mine one of my wires was in the tar and had actually broken. I soldered it, insulated it, and it now runs fine. Hope this helps.

A lot of water stays at the bottom(in fact) of washed dishes(crockery) What do I have to make?

There is a drain screen on the bottom of the dishwasher that needs to be cleaned out on a regular basis, especially if you put in dishes that haven't been rinsed off. Food waste will plug up the screen and not let the water drain out fast enough

If that screen gets blocked, the water doesn't have enough time to be drained from the washer during the timer sequence and the water will remain at the bottom.

Smeg dishwasher problems

Check the screen, which is under the bottom wash bar. You need to pull out and clean and then see if it will drain. Also listen to make sure the drain motor is running, it also could go bad on you.

Water is staying in the bottom

Water staying in bottom is not a problem unless the dishwasher base is full of it and covers the wash arm.

This means the drain cycle is not working or dishwasher is shutting off before drain cycle.

Try to clean the filters at the base and check drain in kitchen sink side is clear.

Need the model number in case you want more specific instructions.

Is water suppose to stay in the sump pump of a ge potscrubber dishwasher. The water drains except in the very bottom where I guess the pump is. There is lots of mildew and I have lots of grit on my...

Yes water does stay in the sump all the time. This is normal.

Try running a cycle with a cup of Vinegar or Baking Soda in the dishwasher.

Also check to make sure that your drain line (under the sink) is higher than the sink drain and not allowing some sink drain seepage back into the dishwasher.

If it's drain water and filling with water at the same time your drain hose is lower than the water fill line of the washer. try raising the drain hose up higher

Dishwasher not emptying

either the pump is not working or the discharge hose is clogged, if you have an air gap on the sink take the hose off and hold it down see if the water comes out by tself if so the pump is bad if not the drain is colgged take out the bottom tray you will need a 1/4 inch nut driver take the plastic screen cover plate off clear it of debris, there is a sharp metal blade in there so be careful, after cleaning it out turn on to rinse and see if it drains if not you will need to either replace the dishwasher or the pump, dollar for dollar new dishwasher time
