Blackjack ii is frozen on the Microsoft Logo screen

My Blackjack ii is frozen on the Microsoft Logo screen. I have taken out the battery and the SIM which did not work. I took several pictures recently so I don't want to do a total restart. Is there anyway I can get past the screen so I can get to my pictures.

I just tried to update the software, but the phone would not connect to the computer...I assume it is because it is stuck on the green Microsoft screen

You dont need to have a master reset on it, because the internal software has defected, all you have to do is t REPROGRAM your fon,, g to the technician with the software of programing data,, because the CPU of the celfon can be direct software malfunction,, so you need to correct it by means of REPROGRAMING,, or you have the other choice REFLASH/REPROGRAM you can choose on of them,

Software update does not delete your personal files, only reinstall the system deleting all settings.

Moreover, by default, pictures, contacts and data are stored on the SD card and not on the SIM card, test the memory card on a computer to find out if your data are in there (and do a backup. Use a card reader to read the card.

See the foolowing website on how to do software update on your phone.

Click here for the Upgrade Instructions FAQ and XP Downloader
If software update does not work call the number on the phone instruction booklet, they will give you instructions on how to trade in your phone, you can retrieve pictures and data from the memory card inside.

As if it is getting freezed its due to the moisture or humidity so apply hair dryed hot air on the area where the barrey is.do not apply it on the battery it can burst .just apply in the area where the batery is inserted .also do apply it on the other areas of the phone .and
you can try connecting your phone to the pc and check out if its getting detected that it will be much easier to pass your pictures to the pc from the phone.

Well, the pictures should have been saved to the microSD (TransFlash) card. You can just remove that, and insert it into any microSD reader and transfer from there.

As for your boot up issue... you might have to have the OS reinstalled, if the software update does not work. Many cell places now offer these types of services, or they'll get you a new one.

Hope this helps.

Didn't read the other posts. If it's on the main drive, then there really isn't much you can do, unless you have the hard drive/storage removed, and the data exported via an external reader. Unfortunately, prices do vary and you'll find that it might not be worth the cost and effort.

The only other option is to exercise any sort of repair services Samsung provides for the phone... which isn't much. Here is an out of network cell phone repair shop, which might be able to retrieve the images for you. We've never used them, but you can contact them to find out if they can help you.

Since you have already taken the battery and the SIM out and it did not work so the only solution is to do a master reset. But as you have mentioned you have important picturers you can take the memory card out and take the back up of the pictures to your computer before doing the reset.

Master reset:
Power the device off.
Press Up on the directional key.
Press and hold the Power button.
Press the 1 key.
A confirmation screen appears, press the Y key to proceed.
Additional information about this device can be found on the Microsoft support site at www.windowsmobile.com.

Thanks

turn on the phone and connect to the computer. Check if it is getting detected. In case it detects you will be able to import the pictures from the phone memory.

    Thanks

i see people has given you the advice of updating the software. You cannot update the software without the device getting to the main screen. So anyway for that you will have to contact some local repair shop like Bestbuy etc.

    Thanks

My black jack II is completely frozen. It wont load anything. I cant even send or recieve text messages or go anywhere from the main screen. I have taken the battery out several times but it hasnt helped....

Yes my friend, there is a reboot reset function on the Blackjack 2 SGH-i617.

reminder: "This following steps will delete all files on the phone memory"

*you just have to remove the sim card & memory card.
*Phone should be Off.
*(on the spinning wheel) press & hold the upper side so that you'll be *pressing the UP navigation key. Then while holding that button down, *you need to press & hold the power button.

It will go to the format screen then press #1, it will ask you if you want to delete the files, press the letter "Y" on the keypad then the phone will reboot.

When I try and restart my Blackjack II, the Mobile Windows screen comes on and doesn't continue booting up. I have tried removing and installing the battery, but nothing helps. It just sticks on this page...

You can try manual format & reset. It will delete EVERYTHING on the device, but will not harm your SIM or contacts. Remove any memory cards before doing this. Shut the phone off, and hold down both the top part of the circle pad(the spinning one) and the power button at the same time. hope it works

Blackjack II will not start

This has happened to my Blackjack II and I've found if I plug it into the charger then plug the charger into the wall, the phone comes right on. It's a pain, however, if I'm not at home when it decides to do this since no amount of button pushing will turn it back on, it acts like the battery is dead (when I know it isn't!)

BTW, I've have to have my SIM card switched out twice and the battery replaced 4 times since I bought this phone brand new in February......

Blackjack sim card

Well, no. Your sim card must have taken a big jolt to it in order for it not to work. Simple, you need a new one. Got a Sams club near you? They should be able to give you one for free, att corporate stores charge 25.00. But sorry to say you need a new sim.
