Can't focus an image - Tasco 49TN

My son just got a Tasco 49TN and we can't seem to focus on anything. With the angle eye piece, we can't see anything! There aren't any obstructions, but if I get it aligned and put the eyepiece in you can't see anything.

I have the same problem. I can't focus on the image even though the eyepiece cross-hairs are exactly on. Very frustrating.

If this is a "49mm" objective it is very had to see anything.. I recommend at least 70mm of aperture.

Yes, eyepieces come in 3 sizes, .965 inch, 1.25 inch, and 2 inch measure the hole in the focuser and buy the correct size. Here are two retailers that sell eyepieces.

Can't seem to see anything through the telescope

The mirror is the BOTTOM of the scope -- the focuser is on the UP end of the tube. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Practice turning the focus knob during the day time until you get a sharp image in the eyepiece.

I cant see through eye piece . i can see thrugh until i put a lense in it? then its just black? but if i take lense out ans aim telescope i can see then i dut lense in and it goes black again

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Go outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object. TURN THE FOCUS KNOB until the image comes into focus.

If your scope is similar to the one in the picture above the FOCUSER end is the UP end of the tube--

I cannot focus anything. Everything I see is completely black. No matter what do I can not get this contraption to work

This is a very simple refractor telescope. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal, then put the diagonal into the telescope. REMOVE the lens cap at the front.

Now practice focusing during the day time on a distant object.

You have the eye piece which must be trimmed and set to your vision and it is only logical that you are able to focus on the object in question to adjust the focal for a clear sharp image.

You are OUT of focus -- turn the focus knob until stars are POINTS of light NOT DONUT HOLES!

The disk with a dark center MEANS it is not in focus. Just TURN THE KNOB. Point the scope at the moon and try again.

It is NOT in focus.

Take the scope outside during the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object. Turn the focusing knob until you get a sharp image in the eyepiece.
