Question about Proscan PS27108 TV

1 Answer

Pincushion Problems Hi, My Proscan model PS27108 w/CTC187BF chassis has a strange problem. Everything is ok with the set other than the horizontal scan being too wide and somewhat hourglass shaped. The OSD images including the channel numbers at the top right corner are barely visible due to the hourglass shape of the picture. Vertical height appears to be okay, but there is also a slight jitter in the picture that occurs along with the pincushion problem. There are no black areas on the sides (picture always fills the screen)and adjusting the screen control on the flyback xfmr has very little to no effect on the problem. I can access the menu for setting the EEPROM parameters but I don't think the problem is related to the EEPROM. All of the tuner and microprocessor shield ground connections have all been resoldered at an earlier time long before the pincushion problem started. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What are the picture, color, tint, bright, and sharp settings because the picture quality is bad for the proscan ps27108 tv?

You would go into the menus to adjust the picture settings. Press the menu button repeatedly until you get the 'video' menu hilighted, then press the 'select' or enter or whatever button chooses, and then use the left and right arrows to adjust the settings, and the menu button to advance to the next selection.

I have a proscan tv model #PS27108, I do not know how to hook up the dvd player in regards to the cords and what channel to put it on? I would appreciate any help with this! Thanks in advance?

The ProScan will accept input on input 90/91/92 using the connectors on the backside. You can use S-video[the little round black connector] or the composite video [yellow connector] for the video in and use the red / white pair for audio in.
90 selects S-video and audio 1 in
91 selects composite and audio 1 in
92 selects composite in 2 and audio 2 in
Connect these cords to the S-video or composite yellow output, and the Red-right White- left audio outputs on the DVD.
If you don't want to do this, get a RF modulator ~$15, and connect the yellow/red/white from the DVD output to the inputs on the modulator, and then connect the RF [cable] output of the modulator to the antenna input on the ProScan, and tune channel 3 or 4.

No Picture; Has sound and OSD Menu

Try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics to a certain extent.
You can also visit the manufacturer's website or call their tollfree number for problem solving info.
Hope these suggestions help you out.
