Look up the manual for your case and motherboard and make sure you are connecting it to the right pin, some pins recieve constant power.

The most likely solution is to replace any Capacitors that have blown in the onboard power circuit. Look for a Capacitor that has got a very bulging top in the region of the power connector.

Hello, just power off your PC and try to reset the motherboard configuration. Follow this steps:

1. Pull out the memory card, bios battery and the connector that connect your hard drive its either IDE or SATA connector. Then pull up the jumper of the bios then put it to the reset jumper settings.
2. Turn on your motherboard then let it for about 5 minutes.
3. After 5 minutes, turn off and put back all the devices you just pull outed and try to put the jumper settings to normal.

4. Then Turn on again and see if the motherboard will turn on.
5. Do not forget to clean the memory card with an eraser.

The LED in my motherboard is on, but if i turn on the switch, their is no response. the power connection is correct. but it doesn't work

Try swapping the power button connection with the reset button connection. Then to turn on your computer you will need to press the reset button. If that works you have a faulty power button. Otherwise try using a different PSU. One that you know works. If that doesn't help the motherboard will have to be replaced.

Sounds like a short in one of the wires. Try testing the power supply with another system, if all works properly then it is a short in the motherboard. Hope this helps.
