Lamp Time Reset for LG TVs

If you replace the DLP lamp out of your LG, you will need to reset the counter…Otherwise you may get an annoying reminder every few days if you’re surpassed the predetermined hour mark.

Ensure the TV is powered on.

Press and hold the MENU button on the TV

Press and hold the MENU button on your REMOTE
(hold both these until the service menu pops up 5-10 secs max.)

Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV

Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV

Press and hold the MUTE button on the REMOTE
(hold both until the LAMP LIFE HOURS appears on the screen)

Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV
We suggest writing your lamp hours on a piece of masking tape and taping it to the back the TV for future reference

To reset the lamp counter, press SELECT (or the button in the middle of the direction arrove buttons). Hit SELECT a second time to confirm clearing the lamp counter

For certain models, you might have to tweak these steps slightly… offer your inputs!

I just broke the diamond shield on my 2002 mistubishi. I need someone to replace it.

these tvs have 3 screens, 2 functonal, and the 3rd is just a screen protector. mitsubishi makes them so you can remove the protector to eliminate glare if you want, and its customer removable. if this is the only one that cracked, remove it and you will actually have a better picture. you just need a small flat head screwdriver. pry of the little plastic pieces at the top and bottom (some are on sides) that hold the screen in. its just held in on 2 sides, and then you flex it to get it out. if it cracked into the 2 screens behind the protector, you've got bigger issues and the repair could get expensive. contact your local mits service center for quotes, but the screens are atleast 100 each, just for parts. let me know if i can be of further assistance.

THE SCREEN ON THE PANASONIC PT-53WX42F CRACKED WHILE MOVING IT

Depending on how bad, there are many layers of screen, if the outer layer is smooth and does not have ridges you can use a piece of Plexiglas to replace that. although glare may be more prevalent with a Plexiglas replacement. if the outer layer has ridges or more than one layer is broken there is not much you can do yourself. The screen from the manufacturer is cost prohibitive to replace. But if you have a local tv repair shop they may have a junk one, that they can sell you for a reasonable price. If it is just a small corner it might be better not to do anything at all, when you watch a tv it is the middle of the tv you watch and the corners are hardly noticeable under normal tv watching, although it may bother some people that the crack exists it actually may not cause you much discomfort watching the tv.

Daytek dt 3220 will not power on

OK, your Daytek 3220 is not a projection TV, but an LCD TV.

Second, I hate to say it, but you bought a piece of junk. They have excellent pictures when they're new, but after a few years capacitors in the power supply go bad. When this happens, either the controls and remote stop working, or the TV starts blanking out, or it will just die and never work again.

The solution is to go buy a new TV. The power supplies are no longer available, and even if you could get one very often the faulty power supply has damaged the main board and/or the LCD panel.

In about 5% of these cases, replacing the capacitors will get the TV to work, in about 25% it will get the TV to work, but because the main board has been damaged the TV will intermittently blank out. In another 25% the LCD panel has been damaged so once repaired you will see dark streaky patches across the display.

In the rest of the units you could have all three problems or any combination of them.

It'ds really too bad because they use a Samsung panel, and have excellent pictures when they're working.
