Question about Cosco Alpha Omega Elite 5-Point 22-155
I lost the manual and im trying to wash the cover seat and everything comes off except where on the seat where the straps come out, where the plastic is at, i hope i make sense hahaha
Okay, tried the butter knife -- using small amount of force. Ineffective. Using greater amount of force bent my butter knife. What ended up working, after lots of blood, sweat & tears: a small sturdy spatula (the kind for brownies, think mine was a Pampered Chef one, though I'm pretty sure they didn't intend that it be used this way). Also, instead of inserting the spatula between the clip and the fabric on the top of the seat, which didn't work at all, I lifted the fabric up and used it underneath, so that the spatula was actually pressing up against the fabric which is in contact with the clip. I used the spatula along the long edge of the clip, pressing up, and worked one side up with a LOT of steady effort. Don't try lifting it up from the short rounded edge, that won't work. The reason it won't work is because there are 2 little plastic doohickeys that run along the clip's long sides, underneath the seat, that are supposed to hold the clips in place. This is why you should try to work one side free before the other. I think the engineers who dreamed up this design should spend a week working these things free. With their bare hands, and small children screaming in stereo in the background. Lesson learned: never accidentally leave your car seat in the rain so that you are forced to deal with removing the cover when you don't need to.

With a small amount of force those little seat belt clips will just pop in and out. I sometimes use a butter knife to pop them out. It is always quite stiff the first time.good luck p.s you made perfect sense.

I also have this eat and have washed it several times. The first time you attempt to take the plastic clip like pieces off, it seems practically impossible because they are so stiff. I use my hands now but the first time was with a butter knife to loosen them and then just pulled them up. Every fabric part CAN come off for washing. The plastic clips things on the top part of the seat (back/head area) are harder than the seat area clips. Hope this helps!
