Bypassing the V-Chip Lock After you set the lock, you need your passcode to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip Lock menus. If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. This is done by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the TV remote control at the same time, when your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV. When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode. Press HOME to exit the menu. Bypassing Front Button Lock If you have misplaced the remote control, you can bypass the front button lock by pressing and holding the MENU button on the front panel for more than 8 seconds. IMPORTANT Cut along the dotted line and file bypass instructions in a safe place for future reference. IMPORTANT changing or deleting your you must use the remote ;ontrol included with this TV. you can only unlock the osd with the tv remote there is no other way, so if you dont have one you will need to get one to do this.
Are you sure there is not a problem with the TV set? The set will need to be on to unlock the front panel.
Bypassing the V-Chip Lock on most
Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit passcode that is required to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus.
If you don't have the passcode, it is easy to bypass. This is neccessary if you forgot the code, purchased the set used, or if you simply don't feel like searching through your files to find it.
To bypass the V-chip: You can view the locked shows by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV.
To reset the code: When you use the button combination 9 and QV while entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode. Good Luck
