I would like to scan a page( from book that have pictures and words) as a text format on my hp deskjet f340 in order to be able to cut and copy and paste and edit on words window xp 2007, that I can make my own notes,
Hello! okay heres how, See your manual if you have, but if doesn't don't mind! Just insert your HP CD then locate Omni Page installer then install it. You need to install it because thats how conversions take place. Of course, you can't expect quality output on pictures but text will be converted into RTF or rich text format which you can edit it later on MS Word. then, after you install it, locate the program and run it. Just follow onscreen instructions and you'll be good.

go to Start, Settings, Control panel, printers and faxes is your printer there? is there a checkmark? no, then right click and set as default, put your mouse over it does it say Ready? no, then change cable.
send test page, it should print, if not the USB or Parrallel input of your printer has a problem.
