Replace fan by removing entire rear panel. Look at lower rear left of rear of TV. Dusty vents are a sign that debris may have entered the fan bearings. Remove screws and be careful not to lose the rubber vibration mounts. The part is made by Phillips. Check for part number 178733321 at tritronicsinc.com for about ten dollars. I'm ordering a fan today.

My toshiba mod. 52hm95 lamp cooling fan is making noise and i am having trouble locating a replacement

Fan like noise may be a fan or the color wheel---color wheel spins at high speed(lamp faces it) and when failing you will have a high pitched or fan like sound---hard failure and you will hear a grinding sound.

Bulb went out for the 2nd time in less than a year on Mitsubishi WD52327. Also making a loud grinding noise. What is my problem?

the grinding noise is from the cooling fan that cools the bulb. It needs to cleaned or replaced. You will need to take the back cover off the set to get at it. If the cooling fan is not doing its job that would cause the short bulb life and the noise

Cooling fan is loud on initial start up and calms down after a couple hours use. Can I change out the fan and what is the part number on the HL-P4663W?

This tv internal curcuitries and manchanical design have a colors wheel in it.The tv have loud squiling noises, motor noises, black&white or colors flickers and fating. All the effect of the tv colors wheel is dying and spinning off of it motor axis.Cooling fan make noises for a couple hours, calm down,no way.The fan would have stop functioning, way before that.

Tv makes a noise

This is definitely the color wheel. It is not the same thing as the cooling fans. The color wheel is buried; even if you took the back off the set you cannot even see it. It's a pretty pricey repair.
