A service guide isn't readily available for the C500 series, but the C300 manual can be used instead. Here's a quick link to the pdf http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00753552.pdf

cheers

I have a Samsung DLP 50" HDTV HLS5086w, and I need to know how to find and remove fan # 2 from inside the TV so I can replace it but when I open up the back I can't see it anywhere. Only fan 1 is...

Fan #2 is the fan that blows air accross the lamp itself. It sits in the far upper right corner covered by a shroud. The ONLY way to remove the fan is to remove the complete light engine itself. I would recommend a technician to do so : )

How to put in a water pump

If you post the year, make and model, you can get more specific instructions.
The basic procedure is:
  1. Disconnect the battery
  2. Drain the coolant and properly dispose of it
  3. Remove the fan shroud sheet metal cover
  4. If electric fan, remove fan
  5. Remove radiator hoses
  6. Remove radiator
  7. Remove belts
  8. Remove or move out of the way, the alternator, steering pump and A/C pump and water pump fan.
  9. Remove water pump.
Install in reverse order and fill wit new coolant.
Note. This a good time to replace all belts. including the time belt, since you have the front of the engine exposed. Also a new thermostat.
4 and 6 cylinder engines that are inline are straight forward and generally easy to do. Sideway models do not need to have the fan and radiator removed, but are much more difficult to work on because of space limitations and the need to remove engine support brackets.
There are many sites, such as youtube that have online instructions of your particular make and model.

My Belling XOU179 has stopped heating up although the fan still works. I either need a base element or fan element and then install it. Can you tell me which I need and if it's possible for me to fix...

You will more than likely find it is the fan element that needs to be replaced.
It is a fairly straightforward repair, the element is behind rear cover inside oven, no instructions for fitting will be provided, remove rear cover, and you will see how the element is fixed.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

The fan from my LaCie 500 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

I'd look for tiny screws. I'm not familiar with this model, but external drives either slide into a tube-like case with a removable front and back plate, or have a removable top, similar to the case on a computer. I'd be surprised to find that there's something hitting the fan. The wires in there are packed pretty tight. I'm guessing that the fan is dieing. You'll likely need to replace the fan. If you're lucky, it's a plug-in. More likely, it's a solder-in. If this is under warranty, I'd call LaCie and have them fix it. Definitely don't use it if the fan is dying. When the fan goes, the drive could be close behind.
