If their is air leaking out of the pressure switch after the motor turns off you have a stuck or broken tank check valve. The check valve (PN CAC-437-2) is located on the tank where the line from the pump goes into the tank. There is also a smaller line from the check valve to the pressure switch. If working properly, the check valve lets air into the tank but closes when the motor shuts off. The pressure switch then opens a valve to the smaller line and lets the pressure out of the pump head and lines so the motor can restart when the pressure drops. On rare occasions you can remove the valve and clean it, but more often than not, you have to replace it.

The pressure switch has snap action contacts that are opened by a diaphragm pushing against a spring mechanism. Unplug the compressor and remove the cover to the switch and look for the contacts. Make sure that they are not welded together from use. Move the on/off lever to see if they open and close. You may have welded contacts or broken mechanism within switch. A factory replacement is expensive, however if you are a tinker-er you can use a lower price generic pressure switch available on ebay. Switches are sold by pressure range, you need a 120#. Fittings may need tweaking. Enjoy

Assuming that you are wiring for 115v. Lets start with the ground. The cord that attaches to the wall outlet will have three wires, green, black , and white. Insert the cord thru one of the openings of the pressure switch and attach the green wire to the ground screw. Next look very closely at the contacts and notice that they are arrainged in pairs. There is a small brass bar with two contacts that completes the circuit for each line. Start with L1 and attach white wire from cord, then attach white wire from motor to the screw terminal that small brass bar bridges to (should be T1). Next attach black wire from cord to L2 and black wire from motor to remining screw. Remember that the small brass bar with two contacts is the bridge and simply connects white to white and black to black. Enjoy

It sounds like you may have a broken reed on the diaphragm plate. This is located at the block. Remove the cover, and look for a cast metal assembly with fins. It will be attached to the side.
