Question about Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speaker Bar Speakers (980000101)

1 Answer

Audiohub as WinXP default on Toshiba Satellite lapop

1. I just got the Logitech Audiohub.
2. It worked right away without a problem on my granddaughter's Gateway laptop.
3. When I put on my Toshiba Satellite A65-51762 laptop, I hear only the WinXP sounds on Startup and Shutdown. Foxfire, Windows Media Classic use the tinny laptop speakers (or earphones if I plaug them in).
4. From your Quick Start Guide I did right click Volume | Adjust Audio Properties | Audio Tab | Default Device.
5. The only choice is Realtek AC97 Audio.

Is there some trick I missed? Is there some trick needed for Toshiba.

    The problem changed dramatically.
    1. I just installed a Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Deluxe.
    2. I used the USB port on the AudioHub.
    3. When I restarted laptop to finish Quickcam installaion, no sound from AudioHub on Shutdown or Restart.
    4. Quickcam works fine. (I'll deal with the flicker later.)

    5. I looked at Control Panel / Sounds. Default speaker now AudioHub, default microphone is Quickcam.
    6. I tried playing a DVD with K-Lites Windows Media Classics, it wouldn't start. Windows Media wouldn't play an MP3. Skype had no sound, Foxfire had no sound on an embedded video..
    7. I went to Control Panel / Sounds. I reset default speaker and mike back to Realtek AC97. WMC and Foxfire play, Skype says it has no audio device.
    8. It sure looks like the Toshiba drivers and system sofware are confusing WinXP and your sofware.
    9. What to do?

My Sony Dream Machine won't save the correct time. When I set the date, it defaults back to 2009, and even when I get the correct time set, the clock won't advance. It's been 8:52 PM for...

My wife's unit has the same issue - tried the firmware update (from Sony's website) and their suggested fix with no luck. Still works as a digital picture frame, but wrong date and stuck time kind of disappoint.

FYI - Suggested fix for stuck date/time:

Unplug unit.
Remove backup battery.
Leave for 30 seconds.
Plug back in and then put battery back.
Set date and time.

Didn't work for me, but maybe you'll have better luck.

Can you work this without a remote control

Hi,
yes you can but with some limited functions only ..
Base unit has a few controls on it,that's all you can control.
If you can not locate the remote ,try to order thru customer service of Logitech..

How to open the pure-fi anywhere 2 (logitech)so that i can try to repair it?

I just got my Pure-Fi Anywhere (must be "1," because it doesn't say "2" on the box.) apart to both replace the battery (Ebay, $12-$15), and tighten the screw on the swivel leg.

1) Don't use a screwdriver or anything steel - you'll bugar up the plastic if you do. I used the plastic "prying tools" that came with the battery replacement kit for my iPod. I...

2) Wedged in pretty hard behind the faceplate that encircles all four speakers. This faceplate is about .080" thin. Once I saw that I could force these plastic tools in there, I carefully slid them around and loosened the whole plate. This plate is stuck on with, I guess, some kind of glue - but it remains sticky. I haven't reassembled anything yet, but I think it will go back on and stick again (careful where you set it).

3) Removing this thin plate reveals a bunch of screws. You only need to remove the eight black (larger) screws (ignore the six silver (smaller, flathead) screws - they don't need to come out).

4) Now for more prying (you got those eight larger screws out, right??) - I used the same plastic "prying tools." The best spot for this turned out to be: a) on the top; b) the side OPPOSITE of all the control buttons (power, volume, shuffle, etc.) -- halfway between the middle (iPod cradle) and the end (the opening is about 1/2" back from the front of the speakers. I forced the plastic tool in there, then twisted it and the two pieces seperated (with some effort)(you did remove those screws, right?). I worked the plastic prying tool around CAREFULLY, and eventually had complete success in seperating these two pieces. The wires from the battery are the only thing now connecting the two pieces together.

If you went this far, you don't need me to tell you about the battery or how to tighten the feet. But I DO want to express my irritation at the "expert" at the Logitech forum site: He told a questioner that "you don't want to open up the speakers, it will reduce the acoustics if you do..." Again, if you've gone this far, you can see that nothing done here could have anymore adverse affect on the acoustics than opening your car's trunk would affect the car speakers in the back.

Logitech pure-fi Anywhere 2 Remote Control not working. Tried a new battery & still not working? any suggestions?

I received my anywhere one week ago, the remote didn't work, reracking several times didn't help, I replaced the battery with minus to plus vv. and then put it in again properly, working flawlessly since. Logitech won't advise this method but it's worth trying.

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite Speaker System

Hi,
Two things,
1. You get static charged , from your surrounding ,ie the couch or bed you are sitting in or the the chair you are one before you go and disconnect the ipod.
2. The Logitech is not properly grounded. Check for missing rubber pads below. Also check the earthing at the wallsocket where it is connected

Thanks
