yes, it is either the ignition relay which also runs the fuel pump or the feul pump itself is either locked up or just has gone bad. you should charge your battary then try it again and that does not work you can try hitting the feul pump with a small hammer after you have removed it from the tank, this sometimes will get it going again. i've had brand new bikes just out of the crate need a shock to the fuel pump to get it going. it's a contact problem between the brushes and the commutator of the starter motor. something else to look at before toy take the pump assembly out of the tank is to varifey voltage at connector body of the fuel pump under the tank. find an electrical diagram to find out which wires send the voltage to the pump, if you have voltage there at key on then you will have to pull the pump out. hit it with a small hammer on the body of the pump motor and plug the assembly back into the bike and hold the pump upright over a small container to catch gas that may come and turn the key again. if it does not run you will have to buy a new pump.

SOURCE: Battery Trouble! Ducati 749 dark

you need to get a battery tender, and when you put your new battery in it has connections that will stay on your battery and you just plug it in after you are done riding and cleaning her. oh one more thing when you get a new battery you need to charge it for 8 to 12 hours before using it, they are not like a car battery buy it, put it in, and go, you have to charge them up first. The tender should keep you battery charge all winter long. I hope this helps you. One more thing, 749's do not like weak batteries as you have found out. Buy a new one, install a tender and and use it, the battery will last much longer.

SOURCE: 2005 CRF450R Hard to start and wont idle

Hi
I would suggest that you have the valve clearances checked.

Also, check that the carb is clean. Pay particular attention to the PILOT JET as this opperates the idle circuit.

Be sure the kill switch is off. Check the side stand kill switch. Sometimes they go bad and kill when up AND when down. Hopefully the problem is constant instead of intermittent. Intermittent problems are the worst to find. Both coils are not likely to go bad at once. CDI yes, coils no. How good is your battery?

Ducati 749 fix error 37.3

the display to display codes. Code 37.0, 37.3 and 38. Codes 37 and 37.3 have to do with the immobilizer, and code 38 just says can line. Could the immobilizer possibly be shot? the Can Line does the communication between the display and ECU? If there an issue with this could that be causing the immobilizer issue? Also Immobilizer is the security system in the bike. There is a ring around key cylinder that reads resistance in the key. and communicates it to the ecu, if it does not read the programmed resistance the bike will not start. Or maybe unpluged everything to try to reset ecu and cluster. think about replacing the ecu, and cluster. If you do this you may need to replace both of them along with the keys, and key cylinder.Hope it helps.

To display what is wrong: turn off the ignition, press and hold the "A" button and turn the ignition back on. Than release the "A" button. The main display now shows "EFI", and the smaller display shows the error code.
