There will be a utility on the PC. So say its an acer, you will find an acer toolbar. THis will have a wireless connect/ disconnect on. Make sure this is turned on .

My digihome wifi sayin disabled I can't go down or use button to enable it is there another way?

Hello Shannon,

Disabled WIFI can be frustrating. In a case like this, there is usually a button on your wireless router or laptop that DISABLES/ENABLES the wifi functionality. I would look for this switch or button and make sure it is ON. On a laptop, it may also be a FUNCTION key at the top of the keyboard. Just hold down the FN key and press the FUNCTION key that has a wireless symbol painted on it.

Otherwise, check the software on your device. Many wifi devices come with software that can be installed from a CD or the Internet. That software may also have a feature that can disable the WIFI.

Good luck!

How do i turn internet off

the "Fn" key is usually orange accented, for all the orange functions. it stands for "function". make sure you are holding that function button down and press the button with the wifi tower or logo on it (usually on the F1-F12 keys at the top of the keyboard".

there might also be a physical toggle switch, that clicks on and off, look around the base of the laptop for something like that.

Turning on the wi-fi, toshiba satellite l505-s5966

Turning on of wifi in laptops are usually done using the keyboard's function key and a Wifi button located from F1 - F11. Also a LED light indicator is placed somewhere in your Notebook, Which will tell you if your wifi is turned On/Off. So here is what you must do.

  • First try to locate your wifi button which is located from F1 - F11, it has a small logo like an Antenna with a signal wave on both sides.
  • Now when you found the botton, for example in "F5" , Hold and press the Function Key which is the "FN" then press the wifi button which is the "F5" in short presentation is this " FN+F5"
  • Remember to press it only once because pressing it twice will result in an off wifi. So be sure to press it only once.
  • After pressing it, a LED light should turn on, it is located somewhere in your notebook. When this light is on this means that your wifi is already turned on.
  • and Thats it.
Hope that my solution will help.Thank you for using Fixya!

I cant get any wireless signals because its says wireless capability is turned off it says to use the switch to turn it on but there is no switch. how do i turn it back on

Depending on your operating system, you can often just troubleshoot the problem and Windows will automatically turn your wireless adapter back on. If this doesn't work, it's likely that there's a physical switch on the laptop that needs to be in the "on" position otherwise it won't work. It may also be a function key combination. If this is the case, look for a little wireless symbol on your F1 through F12 buttons, then hit the function key "Fn" (usually right next to Ctrl) along with the appropriate wifi key and it should re-engage.

Compaq parcerio 2000 laptop web connection light will not come on

did you refer to the wifi light? actually wifi radio receiver is a manual thing and you should turn it ON and OFF manually. Im not sure with the model you described but try to look for a slide or push button with the wifi icon (an antenna with 3 waves). then try to see if the wifi led is lit. Another way, if your device is soft touch, then there is no hard press button for it. it will be a combination of FN + a function key (look at the function key with the wifi icon)

Wi fi

Could you make sure that wifi switch is turned on.

This will be physicall button on the laptop of function keys combination that enables wifi.

If wifi switch is on you should be able to see wifi networks in range. IF you see networks but can not connect this will be network security issue. MAke sure that wireless network router is properly setup and security key you enter is correct

Can not connect to wifi due to wireless switch

I assume you have a laptop or notebook. If you look closely at your keyboard, you'll notice a couple of keys next to the spacebar, usually on both sides, that have something like "Func" printed in blue or another color.
Now, if you look at the rest of the keys on your notebook, you will see that some have two
functions: the desired character key, and another, in the same color as that special
function key.
If you now look at the topmost row of keys, or the 'function" PF keys, it's likely that
they too have a second function, depicted by a small icon in the same color. The icon
you're looking for should look like a radiating antenna, and it may have on it (or elsewhere in the notebook) a small (usually blue) LED that comes on that comes on when WiFi is turned on.
The combo key action you refer to means that you should press the special function key next
to the spacebar first, and then the key that has the icon, to toggle WiFi on or off.
In other cases, there's a recessed button along the edge, either on a corner, or on the sides of the notebook, with a similar icon depicting an antenna of some sort, and it usually has an LED that comes on to indicate WiFi is active.
If all fails, your user's manual is the best source of information to find the key/key combination you need, since not all notebooks/laptops have these keys/buttons in the same place.
Good luck!
