T-Mobile Vairy Touch II, (Problems), when i select-tap a number on the screen numeric key board, the number below is displayed. eg. tap no 6, then no 9 is displayed, 2 gets 5 etc. If in icon mode, to select the (settings) icon, I have to tap the (www) icon above it. Tap any icon or number, the one below it is selected, same in menu mode. What's wrong ?

Hard Reset: 1.Power OFF the handset. 2.Now press and hold the Volume Up, Muve Music key and the Power keys for 10 seconds. 3.A test screen (Triangle / Exclamation mark) will be displayed as below. 4.Press the Volume Up and Volume Down keys simultaneously to access the System Recovery screen. 5.Scroll using Volume and select "Wipe Data/Factory reset" and press the Muve key. 6.Scroll using Volume and select "Yes - delete all user" and press the Muve key. 7.When complete the system recovery screen is displayed. 8.Select "reboot system now" and press the Muve key. Master Reset: 1.Tap the Menu key 2.Tap Settings 3.Scroll to and tap Privacy 4.Tap Factory data reset 5.Read the message about erasing data 6.Tap Reset phone 7.Tap Erase everything.

Press the STATUS KEY

With the numeric key pad key in 10871087 (if done correctly the display will change and say ENTER MAINTENANCE ITEM)

Enter 201 with the numeric key pad (follow the steps below):
1. Press the start key. 2. Select the [INITIALIZE].
3. Press the start key.
4. Press the center of the + keys. Be sure to press three + keys displayed in order. The touch panel is adjusted automatically.
5. Press the indicated three + keys, and then check the display.
6. Press the stop key. The screen for selecting a maintenance item No. is displayed.
Completion Press the stop key. The screen for selecting a maintenance item No. is displayed.

Now to exit maintenance mode key in 001 with the numeric key pad

Press the Start Key ( you should be back to the status screen, press copy key to go back to the copy mode)

Remember do not go to any other maintenance mode or make any other changes.

my vairy touch ll, always bad reception, the music isnt loud enough, the alarm has a mind of its own and most importantly the touchscreen plays up every so ofter, no matter how much times you take the battery out and try to clean it, it never works... I sugest giving that phone to charity or selling it to buy a new one but that's if anyones dumb enough to buy it off of you.

First you have to get into the maintenance mode. It is important once in there you don't make any changes other than the one I tell you or you could damage the machine.

To get into maintenance mode do the following:

Press the STATUS KEY

With the numeric key pad key in 10871087 (if done correctly the display will change and say ENTER MAINTENANCE ITEM)

Enter 201 with the numeric key pad (follow the steps below):

1. Press the start key.

2. Select the [INITIALIZE].

You won't get a free unlock solution for the T-Mobile Vairy Touch, however unlock codes are inexpensive. I have posted a link to a site where you can get an unlock code for just £7.00 below.

: You must be a System Administrator to perform this solution. 1. Press the [Log In / Out] button on the Control Panel. The Login screen will be displayed. 2. Enter the machines IP Address using the numeric keypad, and then select [Save]. The Protocol Settings screen will be displayed. 12. Select [TCP/IP Subnet Mask], and then select [Change Settings]. The TCP/IP Subnet Mask screen will be displayed. 13. Enter the machines Subnet Mask using the numeric keypad, and then select [Save]. The Protocol Settings screen will be displayed. 14. Select [TCP/IP Gateway Address], and then select [Change Settings]. The TCP/IP Gateway Address screen will be displayed. 15. Enter the machines TCP/IP Gateway Address using the numeric keypad, and then select [Save]. The Protocol Settings screen will be displayed. 16. Select [Close] three times. 17. Select [Exit]. The machine will reboot automatically.

different models use different display methods, if there is any sort of touch screen it will appear there in an alpha-numeric display
eg U4-2 or J3-2 etc.others just display symbols if there is no touch screen (symbols like a pyramid of dots for out of toner, crossed circle for drum end of life etc) some of those will display a number if you hold down the clear button or the stop button, depending on the model
there are probably 5 or 6 different diagnostic systems needing different entry modes...you will have to be very specific with both the code and the model number of the machine
