"Please clean Roombas brushes"

I have a roomba 530. It is making a clicking noise, and runs for about two minutes then stops stating, "Please Clean Roombas Brushes."
This occurs even after the brushes have been cleaned. Any advice?

Same thing. I suspect it is an electronic problem. Mine are now so clean you could eat off them, but it still keeps telling me to clean them.

My brushes were also very clean and I was still getting the "please clean roombas brushes" message. I took both of them out and washed them and that seemed to help.

Same thing happened to me. After "cleaning" the brushes and emptying the filter several times, I realized that the brushes were not properly secured. One of the yellow fasteners needed to be pushed closer to the middle nearer to the brushes. It was not secured properly. When I did this it fixed my problem.

The arrow on the yellow rings at the end of the brushes are not aligned correctly.  Make sure they line up and are set correctly on each end of the big brush

Took Roomba apart to clean and now the pick up brushes start and stop during cleaning. The vaccum is clean but will not constantly spin. Runs great but pick up brushes start and stop. Is there a number...

You can go to www.iRobot.com . This is the roomba website. You should be able to find replacement parts, customer support, videos or the Roomba product, and more.
When you cleaned your Roomba, did you also clean the wheel wells and outer most edges of the brush brush cartridges? There can be lint, threads, and at my house, cat hair, wrapped around the outermost edges of the brush cartridges.
I hope my suggestions help. If so, please contact Fixya and rate my solution.
Thanks and Good Luck!

Roomba 530 makes a thumping noise every secondand stops with a message to clean he brushes. I have cleaned the brushes and filter but to no availe the thumping continues.

You also need to pull off the yellow bearings from the end of the brushes (one on the brush one and one on the rubber one) and remove hair from the axle there.

Telling to clean bruses and clicking noise

Hello Sara
if its under warranty, call iRobot, they will probably replace the cleaning head.
If not, you'll need to open and clean the gear box.
there are few manuals with images on how to do that here is one

Have fun and enjoy your Roomba

My Irobot Roomba keeps saying that I need to clean Roombas brushes. I have cleaned the brushes...they are spotless. Still the Roomba will go for 2 minutes and shut itself off stating once again to clean...

Perform the troubleshooting found at the iRobot website: http://tinyurl.com/nh5c8a (I promise that really does go to the right site.) That troubleshooting will enable you to determine exactly what's causing this problem. (The Easy Way: Run the Roomba minus the dustbin and look in the back. Is the brush turning? If not, there's the problem. Give support a call at 1-877-855-8593 and they'll let you know how to replace the necessary part.)

Good Morning, My Roomba makes a banging sound and the brushes don't turn. It stops after about two minutes. Thank you & regards, Judith Halls

Hi Judith,

after removing and cleaning your Roomba's brushes & bearings (see the manual for instructions), try running the unit without the dust bin. You can watch the main brush while the Roomba runs. If it's not turning, it's time to call support.

Roomba keeps saying clean brushes yet are clean!

Make sure you take off the little cap at the end (the one that spins -- just grab it and pull it straight off) and clean under it too. The rest of the brush may look perfectly clean but what happens is that hair gets stuck under spinning cap and, like a slowly growing washer, it pushes the whole brush toward the gear box. When it gets pushed over enough, the large yellow ring starts to rub against the side of the brush deck making it harder for the motor to turn the brush and you get that "remove and clean brushes" message.

Problems with roomba 530

before taking apart your Roomba read this!!! First to see if it is a defect or really the brushes, take the brusehs out and run roomba with out them. If you still hear the clicking/ thumping then try taking it apart or call roomba. But if the clicking/ thumping goes away when the brushes are out you're in luck! Take the brushes. The brushes have little yellow nubs... those come out. pull them out, and you will see a lot of hair waiting for you. clean all of the hair out ( tweezers are wonderful for this). Once they are cleaned out put the yellow nubs back on. Put your brushes back in and you're Roomba will be back to business in no time!!!
