GIF's and certain media and even Flash will make your Fan run continuously. Observe what you are doing when you hear the fan run. Also you said you cleaned the fan, did you open the bottom plate and then clean it? Also, is there a hard surface you are keeping the laptop on or are you sitting in bed using the laptop?

SOURCE: HP Desktop power up problem

Bad ram probably, units do that all the time at my job. Most of the time, it is the power supply that does not have enough power to invest into all hardware that makes your pc. even if you had a 400watts power supply, the next time you are buying a power supply you should do some kind of upgrade. 600 watts or more. If you have a high end graphics card then you are indeed in need of a new power supply. also check your cpu, its fan, check if it still seated properly, if there still paste on top of it to hel cooling it down, and protect it from statics. if you added new hardware, remove them and keep checking if it is working. To do manual diags, you need to take the unit apart. I would start by removing rams first, and check ram one by one, then hdd, then disconnect other components until i find the actual part. I am sure it is your powersupply, worst case scenario is you mobo is gone.(but it powers up and shutdown after all so let us hope you don't have a dead motherboard." and remove the dust please, dusty units do not run properly. SOURCE: Desktop computer fan runs constantly

Hi,

Desktop fans do run constantly, you cannot avoid this.

The reason they get loud is because there will be a build up of dust on the fan blades.

To rectify this problem turn off the computer and remove the power cord from the rear. Then you need to remove the side panel from the base unit to expose the motherboard.

You will see that inside the case it is full of dust. Look at the CPU fan (the fan on the motherboard) also take notice of any case fans too, they are at the back.

To clean the fans and the case you can use a clean dry paintbrush or compressed air.

Once the inside of the case is cleaned you will see a noticeable drop in noise.

Regards.

My oven fan has recently started to make a very loud rattling noise for around 30 seconds once every few minutes while the oven is turned on in fan mode.

The fan needs be cleaned and lubricated. To do this: Turn off stove/oven. Remove fan cover plate. Remove fan. Clean and lubricate the shaft bearings with 3 way oil. Install fan and cover plate.

Computer fan turns on every 2 minutes and runs for 30 sec.

Does your computer seem to be running hot? If not maybe that's all the fan needs to run to do its job. The only thing you could try is to replace the fan.

Computer will not come on loud sound from pavillion repeats it self. The fans will spin and the blue light on pavillion comes on. moniter screen will not come on the power light is on

On some computers, when you turn it on, the fan starts to run at 100% of its speed, i.e., very noisily.
Then, when it is detected that the computer is functioning, and _not_ over-heating, the fan will slow down, and quiet down.

So, what is the nature of the "loud sound" ?
Continuous? Beeps, in some pattern?

Take the computer to a qualified technician, for better trouble-shooting.

Fan noise after a few minutes running.

Fans are typically a little noisey. If it's exceptionally loud or continues for a long time it may indicate the fan is no providing the proper cooling. Purchase a laptop cooling pad to place under the laptop while your useing it and make sure nothing is interfering with the airflow around the unit.

How do i access the processor fan for hp pavilion dv5000 because it gets extremely hot in the top right corner, then shuts down. and the fan only runs for like 2 minutes every 30 minutes

Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery. After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer .

AND

With the ear bud clean the vents of the fan and check whether it is happening again. And if it is happening again do the bios update of the computer from the hp.com website and check.

RV A/C blower not working and keeps kicking out

If blower not working, and yoou hear a slight "Hum" with fan only on, try this. With power off to AC. Go up on roof, and slide a stick through opening on side near rear, and try to get to fan blades at rear of unit. try to spin the blades a few times, even if it only goes a little at a time. Unless you want to take all those screws out & remove cover to get at it better, but watch for wasps under there. Give fan a couple of full rotations, then have someone turn it on to fan only & see what happens. If fan finally works, let it run for a few minutes on fan, then try cool & see if it all comes together again. Let me know.

Hp laptop dv9500 noisy and loud fan ...

The sound you are hearing is probably the fan, This fan has a noisy bearing and will eventually lock up and the fan will stop spinning and therefore the CPU will overheat and shutdown.
The fan needs to be replaced.
