I can't find a decent manual for your laptop but there will be 2 pins on the motherboard that will say BIOS Clear. Short these 2 pins and turn the computer on. This is the only way to bypass the BIOS password. This operation will clear the BIOS and reset to factory defaults. After the BIOS is cleared, turn the computer off and take off the short.
know of similar problems. either the cable and connection end you have or the receiving end in the tablet. can be diagnosed by getting replacement charging cable. if the problem goes away then its the cable if not it is probably the receiving end in the tablet
Disconnect the battery, unplug it, then open it up. There should be a small round battery called the CMOS battery somewhere in there. Pull that out. Then plug your computer in and boot it up without the CMOS battery. It should say password disabled. Turn it off, disconnect it, put it back together, and you're good to go.
Tried the same thing and got the same result using the motion computing DVD/CD external reader/burner.
Has anyone found an answer to this problem of trying to switch to a larger hard drive on the 1600 with format/installing? The new hard drive was not able to read the recovery disk with OS on it. Thanks.
Get on Google and search for Hiren's boot disk. download ISO and burn to cd, boot cd and look through menus for Lockpick. It will allow you to reset the windows password, NOT the bios or SYS pw set in the bios.
In some Motion LE1600 tablet pcs, the AC adapter port becomes separated from the motherboard. It will charge in the convertible keyboard or docking station because the power comes from the USB connection (for the kb) or the dock connector (for the FlexDock). Motion used to fix this by repairing the solder joint but now they just replace the motherboard (very expensive). There are ways to solder this but the repair doesn't always last unless you have someone really good do it.
Here is some stuff I found on the net:
Some Toshiba laptop systems will bypass the BIOS password if the left shift key is held down during boot.
Try using Toshiba or toshiba as the cmos password. (cmos passwords can be case sensitive)
