Unfortunately you will need to replace the drive. I have seen this happen once before and you will never get all of the little tiny fragments for disk out of the drive and it will cause damage to other disks that you put in the drive. I would replace it and save yourself a whole lot of headache.

Top 7 free programs to have on your PC

Hello again, :)

Y'now, I'm a fan of gadgets, macros and programs that help me do tasks quicker, and in this tip i'd like to share with you my favorite programs I install from day one of getting a new pc. So in no particular order, here they are...

CCleaner
CCleaner is a pc junk cleanup program made by Piriform. You may have read about it in an advert or an article, its a program I always install and recommend and its really easy to use. Its my favorite junk cleaner, with its ability to monitor and clean the junk from every part of my pc, and its ability to easily disable start-up programs, and clean drives. Id use no other. https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Speccy
Speccy is a really useful program again from Piriform which allows you to find out information about your pc instantly. This information is compiled really well layed out so you can find what version your BIOS is, or what the name of your CPU is, where is your RAM slotted and all your hardware. The best way I can describe it is Speccy is all technical info but to an amateur like me, it all still makes perfect sense and its great if you have someone on the phone wanting to know something about your pc, oh i'll just bring up Speccy and there it is. Speccy System Information Free Download

Driver Booster 2.4
Finding updating drivers a pain? No problem, I kid you not, this is the best driver updating software i've ever seen, thanks to a friend who recommended it to me. Don't trust other driver updater's which claim to be free for a time its normally a con, i've decided to put this in my top7 list just for giving 10 legit free driver updates and ease of use! First once you ask it to, will search your drivers for new updates, then will likely find some for you, and can choose which ones you want to update and does it automatically. Its incredible and fast too. Download Driver Booster 2 4 0 19 Free

Teamviewer
Teamviewer is a program which is one of the most trusted and well known remote access programs. This program allows the user to connect with other people who can then see your screen on theirs, or vice versa. Its a big thumbs up from me as I do get problems with my pc and have to get help from friends in the know. It costs nothing for personal use. If your lazy like me you could even use it when your tired of waiting for stuff to install or download, there's nothing better than lying in bed with teamviewer app on your mobile and viewing/interacting with your pc downstairs on your mobile. I have tried other remote access programs I wont name, but this is the most secure. TeamViewer Download for Windows

Google Chrome and Adblock Plugin
A browser that in my opinion beats them all. With Internet Explorer going down the drain, its important to know who the big guns are. Chrome is fast and elegant browser with easy to use bookmarks, shortcuts, complete a clean interface in general. Fed up of pop up adverts for PPI or something, or waiting 10 seconds to skip a youtube advert? It features extensions which are plugins such as adblock and adblock for youtube you can add to make this browser even more formidable when surfing the web. Whats more, its free! https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95346?hl=en-GB

Avast Antivirus Free
Picking an antivirus is never an easy task, there's so many now which want to do so many things for you to save you from possible threats. I picked Avast Antivirus Free over the likes of AVG Free and Norton because they simply hassle you into buying their premium packs! With Avast however there is minimal adverts and you wouldn't know its on your pc some days, but in fact it works just as hard to protect you against threats and nasty viruses, Whichever you choose, the top line is you don't need to pay for the premium things such as internet security, unless you really have to. Avast Free Antivirus 2015

Auslogics Disk Defrag
I came across this treasure not long ago when a friend said it was better than your standard Disk Defragmenter and those other ones such as Defraggler. The results are visible when it starts to analyse and defrag your hard drive so that your pc runs faster as all fragments of files will be in the right places. Over time, it gets pretty messy and takes your pc longer to access files and process them. Then along came Auslogics and throughout defragmenting you gets to see exactly what its doing, and at the end you should end up with close to 0% fragmented drives, which is incredible to some ive used which take hours and still leave your drive fragmented. Welcome to the Disk Defrag Free Download Center

How to improve cpu or pc perfomance?

1.Cleanup disk
-Cleanup disk mean clean and clear all temporary file. Such as browsing history, temporary file when you browse internet, temporary file where that was save when you install something or else.
- If you don't know how to clean up? windows also have tool for clean up disk, but i'm more prefer using ccleaner software. It is freeware and does not need waiting to long. Just check the check box where the file and data that you wan to delete. It also came with registry fix and you also can set start up software. I'm like this, because with lower hardware, we need to less startup program. Then here i'm choose to startup program antivirus only to make my logon to window and ready to use more faster.

2.De fragment
-ARRANGE FILE AND DATA.
-Why we need this arrangement back?
#storage that you use is like the warehouse. Where all file and data like the product that you save in warehouse. What ever type of your warehouse and product, if you don;t arrange properly then it will difficult to find specific product right? During you install and using storage, it will default to save all new file or modified file, data to empty space. It will put anywhere in your storage. That why we need to fragment it back. For to know whether you should or not to defragment then use defragment tools (from window or defraggler-freeware) to analyze your storage. It will tell your whether you need or not to proceed to defragment. For me, as long i'm see red graph or box . I will defrag my storage.

3.Checking disk
- Checking disk for find bad sector in drive. It was cause from virus damage or from some heavy program like in gaming with high graphic.

There are many way we can check our storage have bad sector or not. Using cmd if you know the command. I'm like to use this. How ever, if you don't know, you can try tools from window. Google and type CHECKING DISK IN WINDOW

4.Change to performance for PC or LAPTOP with lower requirement.
-Before 2010, I using pc with Pentium 4, 1.7Ghz AND 256MB sdram.
with 20GB hard disk. It make me frust sometimes when it hang and need to clean up the disk for more empty space.

For to make my cpu work at optimize perfomance then I change my pc to performance option.

Right click to Computer. cHOOSE properties and in seconds(depend cpu performance) window will pop up and find Advanced Setting.
Then find perfomance tab then at radio button, chose performance. It will change your theme, after you apply it. it will look classic but I don't care for visual, because I'm need more performance then visual effect and beautiful theme.

You also can google how to change perfomance.

My dell inspiron 1440 runs very slow

There could be a number of reasons for this.
1. Run Disk Cleanup
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup,
2, Check to make sure that your disk is not overly fragmented.
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmeter
3. Run a virus and malware program to make sure that you do not have unwanted malware.
Try Hitman Pro

The program does a very good job of cleaning malware.

Blue Screen of Death

The stop error screen or bug check screen commonly called the blue screen of death (also known as a BSoD, bluescreen, or "blue screen of doom.

slasher_x_22.jpg
In reality, the most common cause of blue screen errors is a device driver problem. Outdated, incorrect or corrupt drivers can cause the system to encounter a STOP error, resulting in the BSOD.
Often, if you're lucky, the problem will resolve itself with a simple reboot and you may never have to worry about it again. More typically though, the BSOD is a harbinger of trouble and you may find yourself faced with another and another until you throw up your hands in frustration... but all is not lost.

So the easiest way to try and fix a blue screen error is to reinstall and update your system's device drivers. This is if you are able to boot into safe mode (Press and hold the F8 key during boot up). This will ensure that all driver bugs are fixed and that all hardware has the correct driver. If you know which device caused the error, you can update or reinstall that driver first. The file name in the blue screen of death can help identify the driver. Look for a file with the .SYS extension and search for that file name. There is a neat program on the net that can fix this problem, it's called DriverFinder, you can get it here.

If this doesn't work or you can't think or find the corrupt driver you could use System Restore (If it is enabled) to go back to a time where you didn't get the error. To use the system restore utility, go to 'start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore.

slasher_x_24.jpg
Sometimes though the blue Screen of death can be caused by faulty or loose rame cards. Check that your RAM modules are inserted correctly and arn't clogged with dust.

After using the computer for a few months or years, the hard disk gets fragmented with temporary files, or fragmented files. This will result in slowness of the hard disk and may even result in a computer crash eventually. You can maintain your harddisk by defragmenting your hard disk and deleting unwanted files frequently.

If you see Fatal OE exceptions and VXD errors then it is due to the video card. To solve this reduce the video display resolution. You can do so by going to the control panel and display settings. Choose the correct screen resolution to match your monitor.

How to speed up your computer's performance?

Information: There are some few guidelines that you can follow to maintain your computer and keep it running smoothly.

Free Up Disk Space
By freeing disk space, you can improve the performance of your computer. The Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk. The utility identifies files that you can safely delete, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files.
Use Disk Cleanup to:

• Remove temporary Internet files.
• Remove downloaded program files (such as Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets).
• Empty the Recycle Bin.
• Remove Windows temporary files.
• Remove optional Windows components that you don't use.
• Remove installed programs that you no longer use.
Tip: Typically, temporary Internet files take the most amount of space because the browser caches each page you visit for faster access later.
To use Disk Cleanup

1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup. If several drives are available, you might be prompted to specify which drive you want to clean.
Disk Cleanup calculates the amount of space you will be able to free.
2. In the Disk Cleanup for dialog box, scroll through the content of the Files to delete list.
Choose the files that you want to delete.
3. Clear the check boxes for files that you don't want to delete, and then click OK.
4. When prompted to confirm that you want to delete the specified files, click Yes.
After a few minutes, the process completes and the Disk Cleanup dialog box closes, leaving your computer cleaner and performing better.
Speed Up Access to Data
Disk fragmentation slows the overall performance of your system. When files are fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk when the file is opened to piece it back together. The response time can be significantly longer.
Disk Defragmenter is a Windows utility that consolidates fragmented files and folders on your computer's hard disk so that each occupies a single space on the disk. With your files stored neatly end-to-end, without fragmentation, reading and writing to the disk speeds up.
Run Disk Defragmenter
In addition to running Disk Defragmenter at regular intervals, optimally monthly, certain events warrant running the utility outside of the monthly rule of thumb.
You should run Disk Defragmenter under the following circumstances:
• You add a large number of files.
• Your free disk space nears 15 percent.
• You install new programs or a new version of Windows.

To use Disk Defragmenter:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Defragmenter.
Click Analyze to start the Disk Defragmenter.
2. In the Disk Defragmenter dialog box, click the drives that you want to defragment, and then click the Analyze button.
After the disk is analyzed, a dialog box appears, letting you know whether you should defragment the analyzed drives.
Tip: You should analyze a volume before defragmenting it to get an estimate of how long the defragmentation process will take.
3. To defragment the selected drive or drives, click the Defragment button.
After the defragmentation is complete, Disk Defragmenter displays the results.
4. To display detailed information about the defragmented disk or partition, click View Report.
5. To close the View Report dialog box, click Close.
6. To close the Disk Defragmenter utility, click the Close button on the title bar of the window.
Detect and Repair Disk Errors
In addition to running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter to optimize the performance of your computer, you can check the integrity of the files stored on your hard disk by running the Error Checking utility.
As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing (such as file saving) difficult, or even impossible. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors, and scans for file system errors to see whether certain files or folders are misplaced.
If you use your computer daily, you should try to run this utility weekly to help prevent data loss.
To run the Error Checking utility:
Important: Be sure to close all files before running the Error-Checking utility.
1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. In the My Computer window, right-click the hard disk you want to search for bad sectors, and then click Properties.
3. In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab.
4. Click the Check Now button.
5. In the Check Disk dialog box, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
In most circumstances, select Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
6. If bad sectors are found, choose to fix them.
Tip: Only select the Automatically fix file system errors check box if you think that your disk contains bad sectors.

First of all get a good Antivirus software and scan your PC thoroughly after UPDATING it. Updating the Virus software is extremely important.
Secondly after doing the above step install a Registry cleaning software. I recommend Uniblue Registry booster or Regcure. Virus and unclean registry are number 1 reasons to PC slow down.
Check your hard disk if it is near to full. Use the Windows built in disk cleaning software to clean unnecessary files. After that De-fragmenting the disk will also help a lot. To de-fragment a disk Go to accessories in the start menu and then go to system tools. Find disk de-fragmentation and run it the PC performance will dramatically enhance but Virus and registry cleaning is recommended to be done first.

Good luck!

5 ways to speed up your computer

By following a few simple guidelines, you can maintain your computer and keep it running smoothly. This article discusses how to use the tools available in Windows 7, Vista, and XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to more efficiently maintain your computer and safeguard your privacy when you're online.

1. Free up disk spaceThe Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk to improve the performance of your computer. The tool identifies files that you can safely delete, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files.
Use Disk Cleanup to:
  • Remove temporary Internet files.
  • Remove downloaded program files (such as Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets).
  • Empty the Recycle Bin.
  • Remove Windows temporary files such as error reports.
  • Remove optional Windows components that you don't use.
  • Remove installed programs that you no longer use.
  • Remove unused restore points and shadow copies from System Restore.
Tip: Typically, temporary Internet files take the most amount of space because the browser caches each page you visit for faster access later.

2. Speed up access to dataDisk fragmentation slows the overall performance of your system.
When to run Disk Defragmenter
In addition to running Disk Defragmenter at regular intervals—monthly is optimal—there are other times you should run it too, such as when:
  • You add a large number of files.
  • Your free disk space totals 15 percent or less.
  • You install new programs or a new version of Windows.

3. Detect and repair disk errorsIn addition to running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter to optimize the performance of your computer, you can check the integrity of the files stored on your hard disk by running the Error Checking utility.
If you use your computer daily, you should run this utility once a week to help prevent data loss.
Run the Error Checking utility:
  1. Close all open files.
  2. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
  3. In the My Computer window, right-click the hard disk you want to search for bad sectors, and then click Properties.
  4. In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab.
  5. Click the Check Now button.
  6. In the Check Disk dialog box (called Error-checking in Windows 7), select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start
  7. If bad sectors are found, choose to fix them.
Tip: Only select the "Automatically fix file system errors" check box if you think that your disk contains bad sectors.

4. Protect your computer against spywareSpyware collects personal information without letting you know and without asking for permission. From the Web sites you visit to usernames and passwords, spyware can put you and your confidential information at risk. In addition to privacy concerns, spyware can hamper your computer's performance. To combat spyware, you might want to consider using Microsoft Windows Defender, which is included in Windows 7 and Windows Vista, and is available as a free download for Microsoft XP SP2. Alternatively, there are other free anti-spyware software programs available.

5. Learn all about ReadyBoostIf you're using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use ReadyBoost to speed up your system. A new concept in adding memory to a system, it allows you to use non-volatile flash memory—like a USB flash drive or a memory card—to improve performance without having to add additional memory.
