I would like to know if I can hook up a 320 GB hard drive to this board?

In motherboards of this age the max hdd capacity is limited by the BIOS at 127 GB. Install one only if you can get an updated/unlimited BIOS before.

Need a prossesor for motherboard

You can also use any other intel 775 socket processor as well. The dual cores are at the top of the list for performance that are compatible with that board, but if you're looking for a cheaper solution, I have that board with a 3GHz pentium 4 and it runs great. Here's a list of all the processors you can use.
Intel Pentium 4 (2.66 - 3.80 GHz)
Intel Celeron D (2.53 - 3.60 GHz )
Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition
(3.20 - 3.73 GHz)
Intel Pentium D (2.66 - 3.60 GHz)
Intel Pentium Extreme Edition
(3.20 - 3.73 GHz)
Pentium Dual-Core (1.40 - 2.80 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Duo (1.60 - 3.33 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Extreme (2.66 - 3.20 GHz)
Intel Core 2 Quad (2.33 - 3.00 GHz)
Intel Xeon (1.86-3.40 GHz)
Intel 'Core' Celeron (1.60 - 2.40 GHz)

My Syntax S635MP motherboard can't take more RAM

Hi,
It is highly probable the the other chip ( also known as Memory / RAM ) is faulty, hence causing the system to stop working.

Take out the working one and put in the other RAM. if the system does not startup, it is the RAM issue.

Nothing to do with BIOS or Windows 2000.

Slow start computor

I think Vista might be a bit too beefy an operating system for your PC. If you dont have 1gb RAM minimum its just not going to be fast. You would be better off going back to XP.

New Prossesor

I think that your MB does not support Athlon 1500. You can try with BIOS update.

Still have media card problems

1.) run "system restore" to an earlier date when you know it worked. or... 2.) re-install windows xp (or anything from ME on up)
