How to restore to factory settings, hp desktop pavilion 1993

There are two ways to do this. 1st. Using the recovery partition already installed on your hard drive. 2nd. Creating recovery disc by launching the recovery disc creator. It is highly recommended that when purchasing a new computer a set of recovery discs be may as a factory back up in case your hard drive fails. You should make your recovery discs first. That will require at least 3 DVD blanks. Tell you what, you make the discs first and I'll explain how to use both methods. Click your start button and find a folder called maintenance. The location and name of the folder varies by each computer manufacture as to where they file the recovery disc creator program. I believe It's in the maintenance folder. Open it and there you should find the program. Simply run the program and follow instructions. computershack.leo@gmail.com Good Luck

How to Copy DVD on Mac

This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to use Copy DVD for Mac to backup DVD on your Mac (tiger and leopard). With DVD Copy for mac iSkysoft, you can even copy your DVD movies and remove their protections with just a few clicks.

Step 1: Select Copy DVD Mac Source

In the 'Select Source' field, click and select 'Select source DVD folder'. Then browse your computer hard disc and select your DVD movie (either in a folder or from your DVD ROM).

Step 2: Select Copy DVD Mac Method

Copy DVD Mac allows you to copy DVD to a folder on your hard disc or directly burn DVD to a new DVD disc.

In the 'Select DVD Copy Method' field, click to select a method to output the selected DVD movie:

If you want to output your DVD movie to a folder on your hard disc, you can select the 'Output DVD Folder' option, and specify a directory to save the copied DVD movie.

If you want to directly burn your DVD movie to a new DVD disc, you can just select the DVD ROM where you have inserted a blank DVD disc.

Step 3: Program Settings

Set Buffer Directory: Specify a directory on your hard disc as the buffer directory to store the temporary files generated during the conversion. We recommend that you select a folder on a hard disc that has relatively big free space.

Select Language: Select an interface language for the program. The currently available languages are English and Simplified Chinese.

Step 4: Start copying

Note: If you are copying a DVD disc from your DVD ROM to a new DVD disc, DVD Copy for Mac iSkysoft will ask you to insert a blank DVD disc when the program gets ready to burn. Then you can just take the original DVD disc out and insert a blank DVD disc.

Trying to reload Windows OS. Run into

From another computer build a msdos floppy disc, yes floppy disc.
I believe you computer accepts floppys does it not? and i also asume you are running xp, you can try running the startup disc and trying to check disc, but if you cannont procede, i would opt into downloading another copy of the windows and try installing through that method. If the disc dosent load, and you get that error message of the bat, another step will be waiting for you.

Cannot find hard drive to reinstall windows vista

Just want o make this clear. You are referring to the hard drive which is the storage inside the computer correct? becuase you might be referring to the windows OS cd which is missing hehehehe.

I believed this message appears when installing the OS on selecting the partition which says the drive not found.

check forst in the bios then you start up the computer press on F2 check if the HDD is detected stating the capacity. if not reseat the sata hdd cable if all fails run a fdisk using a disc tool.

Windows can't install because it says it can't find a hard drive. Setup indicated both HD's are there and working. Installing Windows 2000 from Disc. Changed boot sequence so Rom boots first. Windows loads...

Check for sata drivers, if it is system is shipped with SATA hdd, need to install SATA Raid drivers during reinstallation .I believe that the dell system was originally shipped with Windows XP or Vista Operating system which has SATA drivers for SATA hdd. Since windows 2000 Operating system does not have SATA drivers hence unable to recognised hdd.

Dell System DV051 Not working prop. after storm

I believe this is due to Media Direct requiring a 2G hidden partition and entries in the MBR. As I understand it you have to boot from the Media Direct disc first for it to recreate the partition assuming it has been deleted then install your OS. If you do not want the Media Direct then you should be able to use the OS disc recovery console to repair the MBR.

Reload windows

Hi Dragon,

Try pressing the Ctrl and the F11 key at the same time, right after you boot the PC. You might have to try this a few time, because the time slot of this option is fairly narrow. Should give you the restore partition. Then just follow the prompts. Good Luck!
