Question about Harman Multimedia AVR-354 Receiver

Open Question

Harman/Kardon AVR 354, no sound is coming out of speakers

I've just finish upgrading with success my avr 354 with version AFW V0.95.1.1. Putting everything back in order and checking all cables and connections again and again, no sound is coming out of speakers.

What is the problem?

Problem solve. I've re-installed the last update. Something must have gone wrong in the installation.

Please explain what you have plugged in (DVD, DTV, etc)and what method you used to connect audio from that device to your receiver (HK is not intuitive, don't feel bad).

SOURCE: How to I reset my

Hi odysy

I got this from the manual page 43.

Resetting the Remote Memory
As you add components to your home-theater
system, occasionally you may wish to totally
reprogram the remote control without the confusion
of any commands, macros or ”Punch-
Through“ programming that you may have done.
To do this, it is possible to reset the remote to the
original factory defaults and command codes by
following these steps. Note, however, that once
the remote is reset, all commands or codes that
you have entered will be erased and will need to
be re-entered:
1. Press any of the Input Selector buttons 4
and the ”O“ button Hat the same time until
the Program/SPL Indicator 2begins to flash
amber.
2. Press the ”3“ button Hthree times.
3. The red LED under the Input Selector4
will go out and the Program/SPL Indicator
2will stop flashing and turn green.
4. The Program/SPL Indicator 2will remain
green until the remote is reset. Note that this may
take a while, depending on how many commands
are in the memory and need to be erased.
5. When the Program/SPL Indicator 2goes
out, the remote has been reset to the factory settings.

SOURCE: Harman Kardon AVR 135 6.1....AUDIO DELAY???

This model does have a delay function. Programming is on page 19 of the user manual. Go to http://www.harmankardon.com/product_support/interstitial.aspx?sJump=ps&Region=USA&Country=US&Language=ENG select all products, AVR135, and get the owner's guide. If you have trouble with the link, then go to the Harmon Kardon site, and make your way to the support portal and then select all products.

SOURCE: can I conect harman Kardon avr 230 to apple tv

Yes, although it (AVR) does not support HDMI only component video.

Connect the audio to the receiver and the video directly to the TV if you have inadequate video inputs, or want to take advantage of the HDMI.

SOURCE: Harman/kardon avr 247 no audio or LED display on the reciever

I've had the exact problem. HK in the states is no help, you need to deal with a company in Montreal (Jan Industries). Regular techs are unable to fix it without schematics that only authorized dealers have and the manufacturer. This problem happened to me just after 2 years and outside warranty. I've bought a Yamaha today.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

The receiver must KNOW it has a sub and you must decide how bass is managed among all your speakers and set up relative levels.

Harman kardon avr 45 shows 'protector' message on display and will not allow me to proceed to DVD and all other functions.

Short on speaker wires, disconnect speakers then try.

If problem is still present then it is the Bias rate of the amp...that has to be done by a service centre. And the success rate is poor with thoes repairs.

I have a Harman Kardon AVR 235 Receiver that go's into Protect

To avoid making the avr go into protect mode when you power up your Hafler 4000 that is connected in the avr's pre-out, you must power up the set up in the correct sequence.

1. Turn off your avr
2. Connect Hafler 4000 to the avr's pre-out it it is not yet connected
3. Turn on your Hafler 4000. The avr will not go into protect mode becasue of the transients from the Hafler because it is still not powered on.
4. Turn on you avr. There should be no more transients from the Hafler at this stage unless it is not functioning correctly, so the avr shouldno longer go into protect mode.

AVR 7000 audio/video receiver

Harman kardon amplifire are known for that.specially AVR 7000
but sometimes this comes from poor wiring and using a wire that will not conduct better sound. Remember your wiring is very important.you may think your wiring is currect, better to double check. even if your connection is ok and the wire you are using are not better to produce quality sound you will not get sound from every speaker.

good luck

Harman Kardon AVR 40 no sound

Check the fuses - there may be one inside the box as well. May also be a bad transformer. You can get a multi-meter at Home Depot and lookup how to check the power at the transformer.
