Call the 800 number for support. It is listed on their web site. The problem is probably with the password. I had trouble with mine. The confusion was that I inadvertantly set a password but didn't know it. They have great support.

In reality you do not need to install the software anyway. You can use the default IP address to configure the router as long as you are able to pick up the wireless signal or as long as you are hard wired to the router.
Click start ->run type cmd hit enter, In the DOS box (black box) that opens type ipconfig, hit enter. Look for the line that says default gateway..you should see and ip address of 192.168.xxx.xxx. That is the default address of your wireless router. Enter that into your web browser (IE, Firefox, etc.) This will allow you to access your wireless routers settings.
You will probably need the user name and password. This should be listed in your manual.

My WLAN says disconnected and it does not find my wireless says windows Cannot find any networks but my itouch working how do I get my laptop to connect again oh I restored to factory settings how do I get...

If you installed the adapter drivers you could have installed also the producers software.
In producers software can happen there is also theyr propretary software for Wlan management. The Windows Wlan management software cannot work if another Wlan management software is installed.
You have two option:
option one is to use producers software to scan wireless network and connect to your network via this software.
Check the box to instruct the software to use only Windows wireless management software and connect via Windows native software to your wireless lan.
Let me know if you solved your problem

To install the software without the CD. Download the software from netgear website. The software will vary depending on the model of your wireless adapter.

Thanks

I am not able to install driver for D-link wifi card

The card could be bad. I've found over the years that most of these desktop wireless cards work best when the software is installed before the card is installed. Meaning uninstall all the software. Turn off the machine. Remove the wireless card. Turn back on the machine. Install the software. Once installed, shut down the machine. Install the card. Turn back on the machine and lets Windows find the card and the software.

Installation is stuck at 30%

hi
may be the installation software is not working, what you need to do is take the cd out from the computer and just plugg the wireless adapter, when you plug in the wireless adapter it will tell you to insert the cd that came with the usb card so that the software can be installed, once you see this message insert the cd and then follow the setup screen(imp thing:incase you see the screen of the linkys installation donot follow that, follow the windows software setup screen) this will install the software and i am sure the software will get installed if the software has totally gone bad then here is a link you can donwnload the software from website and then try the installation

Cannot Install Ativa Drivers

Hi Mark,

apparently you are not the only one having problems installing that device. See here.

So my suggestion would be to download the driver from here.
(90Mb??? - can that thing make coffee too?. Oh I see...they included Internet Explorer 6 in that package...Jeez..).

I just assume that you're running Win XP, but the procedure for Vista is similar.

Unzip the file.

Important: Do NOT use their setup.exe!

Plug in the USB adapter and let Windows try to install it. When it can't find the driver, point to the directory, where you unzipped the files. The file you're looking for is called "ODWGU.inf".
If Windows installs some driver which might not work, go into the Device Manager and update the driver from there.

If you have problems uninstalling their software, try "Revo Uninstaller". This software has a "Hunter Mode", that will help to uninstall even the most obnoxious software. I use it all the time, because it also removes all the **** that Windows uninstallers leave behind.

Ideally you have a clean machine to start from, so you might want to begin with removing their software first.

Please let me know if this worked for you.
