It is likely that your battery is low or nearly-dead, particularly if you haven't used your GPS for a while and it has not been plugged in (to be kept charged). That's why it doesn't start (even if it is plugged in when you're trying to start it up again now). Don't try to repeat the startup (too often) as it will mess up your sw / data (when your battery is low or half dead)
You'll want to plug it in (e.g. using your USB or wall adapter) for up to 24 hours or so, to charge the battery. Then start it up and keep it plugged in until your battery is fully charged.
Please connect your tom tom to the power adapter first.Get a paper clip and press the reset button under the SD card slot of your tom tom.Reset button is a very small small hole at the back near the sd card slot.Keep pressing the reset button for 2mins and also press the power button till the light comes on.
This should fix the issue.Let me know if you need any more help.
Plug it into your computer using a USB cable and press the reset button. Once it resets, keep it plugged in and your computer turned on, until the battery is fully charged. Every so often, charge it. If the battery goes totally dead, it will create problems.
