Go online to the washer manufacturer's website and download the manual. I don't know if the manual will help, though.

Washer won't start, control lock lite on?

Try unplugging the washer for 30 minutes. When you plug it back in, the power board should reset and allow you to start a new wash cycle.

My whirlpool duet "controll locked" lite is on and

This is also like Child Lock - It is usually indicated on the Facial Panel itself. Look for a small child's face, usually with a lock picture near it, it will indicate with arrows which 2 buttons to press. You hold these two buttons in for approx. 4 - 7 seconds. Do this while the machine is on though.

Hope it helps :-) - J.Q

I have a control lock light on and cannot start or unlock machine

The Control Lock is a designed safety feature that enables the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent small children from manipulating the controls and accidentally starting the appliance. It can inadvertently be set following a power outage, or by leaning against the control panel and usually is not an indication of a washer malfunction.

If this is a Maytag Epic, Whirlpool Duet, or Kenmore Elite, the following link explains how to lock/unlock this feature:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608801-control_panel_lock

These instructions are also printed on the front panel of the appliance and in the owner's manual. If this does not correct your problem, then you may have a more serious problem than a simple operator control issue. If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this corrects the problem for you.

NOTE: If you cannot locate your owner's manual, you can download or print a FREE copy at managemylife.com. Just type in your model number under the "Manuals" link and you will find your manual listed in a .pdf (Adobe) format.

I have a Duet washer, and the Control lock light is lite, how do I get it to turn off

Somewhere on the control panel under one of the buttons it will say hold for 3 or 5 seconds to lock or unlock control panel. You may have accidently locked panel while cleaning or some one held button for too long and panel locked. The control lock is there in case you want to prevent small children from turning on your washer. Just hold down button for a few seconds and light should go off.
