Question about Samsung YP-U2X Digital Media Player

1 Answer

Recharging My player just quit on me even though I hadn't used it hardly at all since I had it last plugged into my USB port. I put it in the USB port and left it there overnight. It still won't come on, I get the battery icon. My questions are: Is plugging the device into the port the ONLY action you have to take to recharge it? And second question: Does the battery run down even when you aren't using it?

Re: Recharging

- Yes, in order to charge this device, all you need to do is to plug it in - The battery doesn't run down no matter how long your are not using it. I had one and i didn't use it for over 6 months and it was still working. - Are you able to see it as removable drive under my computer? - Try connecting it to a different USB port or a different computer - If it is viewable under my computer, try to see if you are able to transfer files Please revert back with further observations

Wriggly USB port

Typically this is the beginning of the end for your player. However there are some things to try. You can take a pair of pliers and bend ever so slightly as USB cable so that it places pressure on the bottom part of the connection on your MP3 player. I would try this with a cable you don't care for. I wouldn't suggest doing anything with the player. So many users bring my their blackberries that have the same issue. Most users do not come back to see me for quite a while or until the device is dead. These devices require tight connections, the only other option is pressure and that is what bending the plug does. Lastly, notice the two little notches that come from the wider side of the metal part of the USB connection. Are they protruding up even slightly? That may tell you something is wrong with your USB cables.

My ipod won't work with my computer.

Probably you might need to reinstall the ipod drivers using the installation manual carefully following the guides and steps.

Also check your manual for the hardware and operating system requirements if it matches your computer spec.

But if you're sure the installation was properly done then make sure the ipod suite (PC SUITE) is installed.

Lastly plug in the ipod into other USB ports to ascertain if the USB ports on your PC is faulty.

Computer Freezes when Samsung YP-U3 in USB Port

Get the firmware upgrade from the Samsung website:

But, it sounds like the USB interface on your computer is diverting all of the power to the USB port, and away from the mouse/keyboard slots - you may need to contact your pc manufacturer on that one.

Doesn't look like its charging

Change the USB cable and/or PORT. If you have another device assigned to the USB port and didn't select to remove it correctly, the PC will not recognize the new MP3 player when plugged into that port. Simple fix... remove the MP3 Player from the USB, reboot the PC, then plug the USB cable back in. If it doesnt' recognize the MP3 you have something assigned to that port, possibly a printer and it will need to be removed before you can use it.

No recognition

This happens to my ditty quite often. When it does happen I plug it into the USB port and press the reset button on the Ditty until the computer recognizes it.

Computer doesn't recognize unit when connected

Hi All,
I had the same problem and was going crazy trying to figure this out, but I found that I had installed the GPX mw3816 on my bottom USB port and was trying to plug it into the port above it, because I had plugged another unit into the bottom port, but I switched the ports and it immediately installed. This is another reason, I am thinking of dumping windows and moving to a MAC. Peace!
