Question about Kenmore 16622 Mechanical Sewing Machine
Does anyone know where I may find a manual for the Kenmore 25th anniversary model 13410 sewing maching?
I would like to know how to adjust the tentions and change the sew pattern.
SOURCE: thread a kenmore 158 13410????
Not sure if I am too late, but it's pretty basic. I have the same machine...
You have the thread on the spool with the thread on the left side (unrolling off the spool counterclockwise) and put it around the round thing on the front middle (looks like a snap sort of) and through the eye almost right in front of it (the loop) and hold the thread lightly then wrap the thread around the tensioner (the thing with the dial) to the left (counterclockwise) until the springs "pops" it into place. Then run the thread through the little hook thing (by entering from the left) then up to the eye (hole) that is in the little arms that raises and lowers (you might need to spin the wheel to get the arm in the right position) then you run the thread back through the hook thing (entering from the left) around the little half circle thing (by entering from the left) and finally in the hole in the needle...
hope it made sense, I tried to use laymen terms...

You can get a manual at www.ifixmachines.com or you could try www.brother.com. Best bet is the general manual order form, I'd pay with paypal.com and they'll get you the manual or refund your money.
Good luck, that seems to be a older model

You put the hook (the half moon thing with a sharp point on it) in the machine by placing it opposite the little curved bar. Make sure it is seated properly on the ridge. The you take the race, the circular part with a small plate on the top and place that over the hook(the plate side will be facing up). It will only fit a certain way, it could have a slot that a notch fits into (that is usually how it goes). Then slide the arms over it and they will snap into place. Once done, turn the handwheel and make sure everything moves smoothly. If not, you'll need to start over as something isn't seated correctly. Then you can install the bobbin case as usual.

Sounds like you may have a blockage somewhere in the bobbin area that needs cleaning as this is normally what happens when it gets jammed. Reverse sewing can sometimes cause jams. Remove bobbin area and reassemble.
