Question about Philips 55PP9363 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Open Question

Home theater problem

My Phillips 55 inch rear projection TV started showing a split horizontal scrren with identical pictures in both screens. It is hooked up using pbr cables from satellite box to TV. Satellite feeds are fine in all but AV1 setting. DVD player & speakers run thru a reciever with the reciever hooked into the AV 1 TV outputs using rca cables. How can I get my picture on AV1 back to normal?

SOURCE: scrambled picture when cable box is hooked to hdtv plugs on philips 60 inch rear projection tv

I have had this problem in the past with Comcast. You need to go into the Power off menu (hit menu with the power off on the cable box) change the resolution to 1080I. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a phillips projection

No the red tint is either the red crt needs to be turned down or the red crt is developing a short. But hooking cable to it is not going to help, Unless the TV is really cheap, be careful as a new CRT will cost in excess of 300.00 and will have to be installed and properly aligned.

That is a convergence problem, it may be because of a faulty defective IC.

What powers the picture tubes in a 55 inch model tn55x81

The tubes in the projection set among other things need: 200 volt screen source, filament voltage and high voltage.

Note that if set for example has a loss of vertical or horizontal sweep this will be detected and the tubes will be shut off to prevent the tubes from getting a burn mark on their screens.

Phillips 54 inch rear projection,no picture.

One thing that comes to mind when you say high pitched sound is the HOT ( Horizontal Output Transistor). You may be able to find one at fry's electronics. They are pretty cheap. If you are handy and know something about electronics you may be able to replace it. I am not a TV tech, I have a background in electronics and like to play with them from time to time. Not sure this will help but good luck

Phillips/Magnavox 9P5544C102 white raster and shuts down

This denotes a problem called blooming the horizontal lines you see are called retrace lines this is caused by the increase in anode voltage which could be caused by an increase in HV section current which trips the overcurrent protection dircuit and turns the TV off.If you do not have electronics experience I would suggest taking the set to a TV repair shop.

Distorted picture

It seems you have a loose conection in the Horizontal deflection circuit,I will start checking the horizontal driver transformer then any overheated areas in the power supply and overall chassis. If you are familiar with tv service you know where to look but if you are not be safe and call for help, try no to use the set or the problem will be worst.
