Amp Half Working

After hooking up the amp i then bridge the two subs. Only one sub will work. If i switch the subs wiring, still only one sub works, but its the other one now. Im not sure if the amp is just shot or if theres just something im missing. All i know is when it was hooked up in my old car it worked.

okay , well you need to make sure all your conections are in the right spots, and that your IN LINE FUSE, between your amp and battery, the big glass one is not burnt, just take a look at the metal piece inside , if its a sold metal piece its good, if its burnt in half like a broken bridge it needs to be replaced. the next thing is the fuse on your amp, you need to make sure it is not burnt also. Check your remote that it is hooked up to the right wire. then check that your sub/speaker wires are connected properly and secure. YOUR GROUND WIRE IS HUGE HERE also. MAKE SURE IT IS GROUNDED TO A GOOD SPOT, YOU MAY HAVE TO MOVE IT AROUND A FEW TIMES TO FIND A GOOD GROUND!!!! if you check all of these things, it should work fine.. you can fiddle with your amp and bass settings levels. turn em up so when it works you know it, but not too much you dont wanna blow nothing :)

How do I hook up one sub to my rockford fosgate p3001 amp

Hey i have looked over many rockford manuals,(i own a 300.1 my buddy owns a 325.1) and for there mono(.1) amps there hooked together on the inside so channel A+ and B + are cencted on the inside the amp. So you ither hook one 2ohm sub to channel A or you can hook 1 4ohm subs to channel A and 1 4ohm sub to channel B. There 2ohm stable so any lower will eventualy burn the amp out.

Your best bet is to buy a cap. A capacitor is an external battery booster like device. It boost power to amp. The thicker the wire the better. Power and ground. Shorter thicker ground wire the better. Make sure it is not on a painted surface. Scrape down to metal surface!!!!

I have a PHOENIX GOLD RYVAL V1502 amplifier and trying to hook it up at 2 ohms as it describes it can be 450watts x2 at 2 ohms running wires from bridged positive and negative to the first sub then two...

Hello mgonzalez390,

It sounds like the amp/subs impedance is not matched. According to the published specifications for the V1502 amp, it is only stable in bridged mode down to 4ohms, not 2ohms. You need to get the final impedance that the amp sees up to at least 4ohms or it will continue to shut down and eventually fail completely.

If your subs are dual voice coil and can be rewired so that each sub has an impedance of 8ohms, then you can safely parallel them to the amp like you have described. If they are single 4ohm voice coils, then you have 2 choices. Connect one sub to each channel or if you want to bridge the channels, then wire the subs in series, not in parallel. Wire the positive bridged terminal from the amp to the first sub positive, connect a jumper from the negative of that sub to positive on the other sub, and then the negative from that sub back to the negative bridged terminal on the amp. This wiring results in an 8ohm load to the amp and it should work OK without shutting down. But the power to each sub will actually be less than if you wire them separately to each channel.

Hope this helps.

Kole amp in protect mode?

Are you setting the bridge switch for both left and right or are you trying to run both subs off of one set of terminals? If you running the subs off one set of terminals you are effectively running the amp below 2ohms and thus the amp is not 2ohm stable and you will destroy it.

Some amps actually all ready run a bridged output for left/right operation, this could also be the reason why the protection circuit is kicking on.

Either way it's a component mismatch and you either need a stronger amp or different subwoofer setup.

One speaker is working more than the other

I would replace the wire your sub is hooked up to and try hooking up the sub that was sparked to the opposite channel on the amp to make sure the amp is not the culprit. Also switch RCA cables L to R, R to L

Subwoofer Output Not Working...

first check that the subwoofer function on the actual head unit is turned up,second check that the gain on the amp is at bout half way then check that it is on a lp (low pass setting)
then check that the boost on the amp is turned up.
please leave feedback.

Pioneer amp and sub problems

That's a 4-channel amp, not a 2-channel, which makes me wonder exactly how you have it hooked up to your sub. Is the LED light on the amp coming on? How many subs do you have hooked up to it, and how is it wired?
