I have hooked both identical models up to two different receiver boxes with HDMI cable and composite audio cables all with the exact same results.

No, I haven't hooked the TV up to a DVD player. I dont have one.

I know that its brand new speaker. What I want to know, have you hooked any dvd player with this TV? If yes, hows its sound through TV's speaker? is it distorted?
    Let me know please.

Please confirm TV speakers by hooking dvd player with it.
If you get clear and good sound from dvd player, then TV amp and speakers are good.
Problem could be in channel tuning procedure.

Have a Samsung hlp5063w that makes a loud buzzing/humming the entire time the set is on. Color is fine, no distortion at all and I just replaced the lamp. The buzzing stops very briefly when the channel is...

Good Day,
You have a bad COLOR WHEEL! The part number is BP96-00674A, it cost around $120.00 for the part.
It is easy to replace if you are some what handy with a screwdriver.
To replace this part is would be wise to place the TV on the floor so that you can have access to the back of TV.
1) Remove back panel (bottom portion only), about 20 screws. 2) On the right hand side is what they call the light engine, remove that.3) A couple of screws on the bottom and top. 4) Pull towards back gently, you will notice some cables will restrict movement, disconnect those cables (make note). 5) With the light engine out, the color wheel will be just to the right of the optical lense, sort of black/grayes object.
The Color Wheel is mounted with the Wheel > facing down.Disconnect the 2 cables from Color Wheel assy. 6) remove the screws (4) pull up and replace with new.
Let me know if you need any more help or how it went.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Samsung 4663w rear projection tv loud buzzing

Buzzing can be caused by a bad ballast, colorwheel, or cooling fan... Nothing else makes a noise, unless it's comming from you speaker.

Hope it Helped U!

Samsung HLN507WX lamp not coming on.

The Ballast is the next logical step but more often the Color Wheel has gone bad. Try this first. Make sure that the Lamp Door has been reinstalled and the screw has been tightened.
Next while you are at the back of the set listen for a short buzzing sound while you turn ON the set with the remote or have another person turn it on. If you hear a short buzzing sound then your Ballast is ok. The reason the lamp does not turn on is because if the Color Wheel does not spin up then the Digital bd will not let the set turn on. Color Wheel part# is BP96-00250A. Ballast part# is BP47-00008A

Reset Time Problem on Panasonic TV (PT-50LC13)

Power on the set, listen for afaint buzzing sound as the set tries to fire up. If you do not here it then your lamp driver, or ballast is most likely faulty. Also make sure you have the door and all covers back in place and secure. And make sure you insatlled an orginal panasonic lamp because some generic will not work.

Does the picture gets distorted in any way when you hear the buzzing noise?
I would suggest to check all the cooling fans for proper operation.

Buzzing noise on Samsung HL-R5667W DLP

You have a noisey color wheel. It is a little tricky to replace but not too bad. Also, there are several different versions of these for different models so be sure you use complete model number from sticker on side of set. Must remove light engine and will need extra long philips screwdriver (magnetic). That is to get color wheel cover off/on. When switching ribbon cable, notice it only has contacts on one side so make sure to put new one in same way. Good luck, Russmann.

Buzzing noise

It could be a high voltage transformer. The serial number won't help me locate the part, but there should be a part number on it. Anyways, this could be the transformer on it's way out. When they are on their way out, sometimes they will amplify the noise through the system and buzz through the speakers too. If you find a part number, check it out on to see what a replacement would cost.

Redish distorted cable picture until I change input source and then go back to cable input

When you say brand new, just how new is it? Your unit could be covered by the warranty. Certainly something worth checking into. If it works fine on all inputs except cable and the cable box has been changed your problem is probably in the digital receiver in the TV. This is something you will need a qualified repair tech to look at but should not be an expensive fix (compared to the cost of the unit). First make sure it is not covered under warranty. Free is still better than having to pay! Good luck.
