Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

Battery Problem, or Battery Prong problem

I've dropped my PSP entirely too much, but it's always worked just fine. The last time i dropped it, however, the battery came out, and when i put it back it, it didn't work. The PSP works completely fine when it is plugged into a charger, and the battery works when it is pushed down into place, and held by my thumb. Is there any way to fix this?

Seems like the battery cover is doing something funky. Try putting a small piece of wood between the battery and the battery cover and make sure the cover closes tightly.

Hello,
The entire PlayStation Network is down at the moment. Sony Entertainment is working on this. The code is from the site not a physical error with your PSP. Unfortunately there is no way to fix this but to wait until the PSN goes back online.

Hook up your Sony PSP to your computer via a USB cable. Turn on the PSP and put it in "USB CONNECT " mode (it should display the words "USB CONNECT" on the PSP display during the entire time you're transferring files, and plug it in if you don't have a fully charged battery).

Umm A little psp help here please??

This appears to be a solder joint problem on the Motherboard where the battery connects. It will require you to send them to Sony for Warranty repair. Or, If you are out of warranty contact Info@playstationclinic.com for a repair quote and shipping instructions. If you want to repair this yourself. you will need detail electronics experience and tools to repair the problem. Even most electronics people do not always have the skills to work with Surface mount technology.

You need to buy a new cover, or if you have the previous cover you can always just use a small piece of flame proof material to give it that extra push when the cover is on.

Is your battery brand new? If not, what happened and when was the last time you were able to use your battery in its full functionality?

Gee I wonder why. Just take the battery out and let both the PSP and the battery dry out for a few days.

Sony PSP wont play umd

Same with my PSP. My son accidentally broken a spring sensor for the UMD when you close the UMD cover of the PSP. That's why the drive doesn't recognize if there's a UMD. Sony Service Center here in the Philippines doesn't have a replacement part for this.
