THIS IS SPECIFICALL FOR THE EPSONN C900...C1100

THERE ARE VARIOUS REASONS WHY U MIGHT EXPERIENCE PAPER JAMS, WITH THIS PRINTERS IT CAN BE CLASSIFIED TO EITHER OCCURING WITHIN THE LOADING TRY OR THE AB PART OF THE PRINTER.
AT THE LOADING TRY(WHERE U INSERT YOUR PAPERS) THE JAM CAN BE CAUSED BY INCORRECT PAPER SIZE AS IN LENGTH OF PAPER, THIS PRINTER WILL STOP PRINTING AND WARN YOU AS IN FOR INCORRECT PAPER SIZE::::::FIX THIS BY CHOOSING THE RIGHT PAPER SIZE A4 OR LETTER ETC AT THE PROPERTIES-OPTIONAL SETTINGS.::::::2 FIX THIS BY MAKING SURE THAT ALL YOUR PAPERS WITHIN THE TRY ARE OF THE SAME LENGTH---SHORTER PAPER OR LONGER ONES WILL DEFINATELY CAUSE PAPER ERROR--- 3 THIS IS VERY COMMON A PAPER JAM WILL OCCUR IF U SELLECT THE WRONG TYPE OF MEDIA (PAPER TYPE - I.E PHOTO PAPER,COATED PAPER,MANILLA PAPER ETC) USE THE COOREECT SETTING FOR YOUR PAPER TYPE....NOTE THAT INCORRECT PAPER TYPE WILL ALWAYS CAUSE PROBLEMS AT THE HEATING ELEMENT - JAM OR STICK ON THE ELEMENT ACCESSED THROUGH DOOR AB--

INTERMINTENT PAPER JAMS ARE GENERALY CAUSED BY
1. DIRT RESUDUE OF PAPER SPECIALY COATED /PHOTOPAPER THAN HAS STACK ON THE HEATING ELEMET/FUSE UNIT ACCESSED THROUGH DOOR AB.

2.POOR PAPER QUALITY THAT KEEPS ON SLIDING WITHIN THE PAPER PICK UP MECHANISIM AT THE PAPER TRAY

3.INCORECT PAPER SIZE -LENTH- SELECTION AT THE PRINTER PROPERTIES SETTING

4. USE OF VARYING PAPER LENGTH AT THE PAPER

5. STATIC CHARGE THAT TEND TO BIND PAPERS TOGETHER, PERUSE THROUGH PAPER BANDLE BEFORE INSERTING TO PRINTER

6. TORN PAPER PIECES THAT GOT CAUGHT UP WITHIN THE MECHANICALS OF THE PRINTER:::FI X - OPEN DOOR AB AND SIMPLY INSPECT:::

7. THIS SHOULD BE YOUR LAST RESORT
::::THEORY :::: OFTENLY PAPER JAMS ARE CAUSED BY WARE AND TARE OF THE PICKUP MECHANISM AT THE PAPER TRAY, THE PICK UP ROLLER LOCATED AT UP THE FURTHEST END FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE PAPER TRAY IS THE CALPRIT. THIS FIX WILL SIMPLY RESTORE THE GRIP OF THE PICK UP ROLLER. :::: FIX:::: WITH A NORMAL SAND PAPER RUB THE PICK UP ROLLER (BLACK RUBBER) GENTLY ACROSS (RIGHT TO LEFT) FOR A FULL CYCLE OF ROLLER::: IF THIS FIX DOESTNT FIX YOUR PRINTER THEN BITE THE BULLET AND REPLACE YOUR PICKUP ROLLER.

The Samsung SCX-4X16 has one elliptical rubber feed roller to 'pick up? the paper from the paper tray and two rubber rollers that engage the paper once lifted by the elliptical roller and pinch the paper between the two rubber rollers and two plastic rollers on the paper tray.

Caution: Care should be taken when cleaning the center roller since the high spot on the roller will feed from the top, towards the back, then rotating towards the bottom and begin its rise towards the front and then the top. Once again, this is the roller that ?picks up? the paper from the tray.

If the paper fails to feed (jams) before it has left the tray, you can do the following.

? Remove the paper tray.

? Use isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip or cotton ball to clean the rollers.

? Begin the rollers spinning by lifting the paper out switch arm (left of center and just behind the center elliptical roller.

? With a clean, damp with alcohol q-tip or cotton ball, lightly hold against each of the two rubber rollers.

? With a clean, damp with alcohol q-tip or cotton ball, lightly hold against the center elliptical feed roller.
? Release and re-engage the paper out switch arm to restart the rollers, using a clean, damp q-tip or cotton ball until you have cleaned them satisfactorily.

? Re-insert the paper tray.

bmwri... indicated that his solution for
C64 InkJet Printer Problem
is valid for all Printers
After years of heavy use the rubber rollers which transport the paper through the printer can get a shine to them and tend to loose their grip. This causes misfeeds and blockages.

Using a damp cloth and something like Jif (slightly abrasive kitchen/bathroom cleaner) rub the rollers whilst rotating them by hand. With a clean damp cloth remove any cleaner and you should see the rubber has lost it's sheen.

Some rollers can be hard to get at but a little patience pays off. I've reclaimed dozens of printers due to be scrapped in this way.

You can also try turning the printer upside down and softly tapping it. You could be surprised at what drops out. My best to date was pieces of an illegal plant substance and a rare Chinese coin. (Yes it was returned to the owner :-)

The flashing error code that indicates a jammed printer is the digital-age equivalent of a flat tire. Sooner or later it happens to everyone, so you'd better know how to get things moving again if you want to finish your print job.
1. Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
2. Turn off the printer.
3. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. (Images 1 to 2)
7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though. (Image 3)
8. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

The best solution on my personal opinion is to keep the printer clean by covering it when not in use.Other great alternative is to buy a new one!

Laser printer jamming usually separation pad that picks up paper is worn out should be replaced especially seen on bypass tray or rollers that guide paper are too slick and have to be cleaned and rubber restorer applied.

Second cause the fuser is defective or not secure.

Paper jam on this model of printer normally means that that the sensors need to be recalibrated to recognise the label gap.

Please follow these steps to recalibrate the sensors:-

1) Power off the printer
2) Power on whilst holding the FEED & PAUSE keys until 1) Diag appears then release.
3) press the feed key until Sensor Adj appears
4) Press the pause key until Transmissive appears.
5) Next open the print head up and remove some labels from the backing paper, next place the backing paper only through the printer.
6) Now press and hold the Pause key until an asterisk appears on the right hand side of the display. This will calibrate the printer to the backing paper.
7) Turn the printer off then back on again and reload the labels as normal and try printing again.

Another cause can be if the labels you are printing are not plain white then you firstly need to ensure that the Transmissive pre printed sensor is selected in the driver. Next print the labels as normal. When you get a paper jam, hold down the Restart key until reset appears then press the Pause key. This will restart the printer without powering down. Next press the Pause key once, then press and hold the pause key. Eventually the word Transmissive or Reflective will appear. Ensure Transmissive is displayed, if not press the feed key to display, then hold the pause key. The printer will start to feed labels. Let at least 3 labels feed before releasing the pause and pressing the restart key. This will teach the printer the colours in the labels.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Pax

The CS-1815 first came out with a Knurled feed tire. This was a mistake. They Knew it. They changed it to a tire with tread on it.
You may need a new feed tire. Easy to change. It is internally spring loaded. Pull out the cassette, push the roller to the side, take it out. Do the reverse to load the new one.

I had the same problem of laser printer doublesided paper jamming.
The solution was to use the correct type of paper which is 20 lb with a high ceramic content. Your jamming problem is caused by fuser heat deforming the paper which then jams up inside your printer, i.e. not enough ceramic and too much wood fiber.
Change to a high quality doublesided laser paper, Office Max or Staples carries both.

Remove the cover at the rear of the printer and you will find three or four spools covered with rubber bands. One of the spools was missing a rubber band, which makes the paper slide in that area and causes blurred printing and frequent jams.

A long pair of fine tweasers may be used to remove tiny bits of torn paper that are stuck in the paper feed and these would otherwise prevent smooth paper feed

Yes, I do. Everytime I try to print something it will not go through the orange rollers inside the computer. If I open the back door, it comes out but have to stand there and catch each sheet.
I have a MondelC3200.

My printer gives a paper jam message ever time I try to print a document. There isn't any paper jammed? When the paper is first drawn into the printer, about one inch, 2.5 cm, the printer stops and the message appears. I am using a Lexmark X4850. The printer is new.

I am located in the Netherlands. I purchased the 6200 early 2006 and until october 2007 it did okay. In October I had several time a severe paper jam.
The dealer informed me that I could send it for servicing, however since the 1 year guarantee had expried I had to provide a 200 euro advance which equals the cost of the 6200. By HP I was recommended to do a restart and a mechanical check. These did not work at all. Now I am going to try your solution ( cleaning the rollers)
