Start the car and then we go to drive it, with the a/c on and recycle air on with dual temperature controls also on. After 20 to 30 minutes, the recycle air shuts off by itself and the a/c blows hot air until you park it for several hours and let the engine cool. Then you repeat the process. Seems to shut off the recycle when we move to the electric motor kicking in. Any ideas on what is going on?
If the ac system is very strong and there a lot moisture in the air the a'c evaporator core will freeze up and stop air flow threw the cold core only use the recuiculation part to cool the car down about 5-10 min the turn the recuit off

Check your coolant level. If it is low, what you describe will happen. Water pump works faster as rpm's increase, managing to get hot coolant to heater core (highway speeds). At idle, pump is not working fast enough to get the coolant to the heater core.

Hi!
It
appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a
system Bleed.
Park
the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap,
start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to
max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near
coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over
should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it
again.
Check
for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye
on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater
matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

Does it do it if you run it on normal ac ?
Same thing happens
every system acts different
