main titlesreen and game stops and starts

  • Anonymous Jan 02, 2009

I'm running a high enough spec machine (P4 3.4Ghz - dual 8800 GTS 512mb - 4GB Ram, Raided serial ATA drives Windows XP service pack 3 - latest Nvidia drivers) and mine is running at 3fps according to Fraps - I too have tried knocking the screen resolution to 640x480 and it looks **** and still runs at 3fps.

I am currently downloading a 531MB patch from Codemasters website, named tp_abmx_update.

I will apply this update and post back on here to let you know if it makes a jot of difference. otherwise the game will be going on Ebay for 99 pence

You may check if you fulfil the *Minimum requirements* list. I believe you're not getting enough FPS (Frames per second) from your Video Card to play it smoothly. What to do? Get a better one; there's a bunch of them you can get for less than $100 bucks, just see the specs, ask around and be sure you won't need to buy a new PSU (Power Supply Unit) for your PC, along with it... and if you need one, don't buy a "Corsair" or a "Thermaltake", you can spend less getting the same (or even better) on a "Cooler Master"... and be sure to get enough COOL air for your new Video Card. Ok?

Other than that... you may be having driver issues, try to update them. Are you getting this problem from the start of the game or just in some stages? Did the patch solve the problem?

This could be a bug from the game itself (I don't know if you remember the disaster that was "Area 51"... it had tons of issues, most of them related to the FPS.)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi,
if the picture is choppy, the head must be tested , first you try to clean it with a cleaner cassette several times, if picture is not getting clear the head maybe faulty, change it.

My hd videos are choppy when downloaded to my computer - what size memory card do I need?

What program are you using on the computer to play the video?

If you're playing the video from the camera, try copying the video to the computer and playing it from there.

HI, how does it game?

Can you play games on the system for more than "10 min" without issue? I ask, because gaming should cause more issues with overheating than watching Netflix.

Movies/videos are choppy and unwatchable... Only problem with pc.

Try lowering your screen resolution, and don't download / view videos in HD. Test with lower like 480 and maybe 720. Mine can't even handle 720 by the way.

Choppy sound

If all media players are closed, Open the Control Panel> Sounds> open, click on configure, test. Any Problem? Now when you say "choppy sound" The audio is on what, using what? With limited info it's difficult to give a informed solution. FOR INSTANCE, I was watching a movie/music, online video, youtube....etc. with (your software) and the sound was choppy. Or, I was on IE and watching a Video, music, etc. Lets say you open Itunes and play a song, sound is choppy?

Choppy Video? What do you mean choppy video? Is the video starting and stopping rather than playing continuous? If so, either you need more memory or the site you are watching the video from is slow. Also sometimes you line speed on the computer might be slow if you are watching the video online.

How does the video play if you played a DvD in your computer? If it plays the DvD without stalling, then your problem is more than like the site you are watching or the line speed as you stream the video.

Choppy sound and video on laptop

Unfortunately your video card memory is probably lacking. And/or your settings are set too high for your processor to handle. Right click on your desktop, goto properties, goto settings, and select for best perfomance then apply.

CD's play simple audio files. DVD's and games play large video files and large audio files that are choppy on older systems. you may need to upgrade your memory. Make sure you delete all you dont use, run disk cleanup. REstart. Run, disk defrag, Restart.

A good test is goto : www.belarc.com or belarcadvisor.com

They will tell you if yoursystem is uptodate.

Good luck!

You may just be running a older processor?

Let me konw,
