Put the zoo tycoon disc in the drive,it comes up loading, as soon as it loads a box comes up saying it has stopped working. I clicked view details and it shows this, APPCRASH with additional info being LCID 1033 so I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it only to come up with the same thing.

Re: Program has stopped working
Right click on the game icon, select properties and select the compatibility tab. From there check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). It might be good to also check "Disable visual themes" and "Disable desktop composition" Hope it helps.

MSS32.dll is used quote commonly in various games. A fair number of games rely on Windows having this dll file already installed to an indexed folder such as c:\windows or c:\windows\system32. If you are missing this file you should try reinstalling the game first as there are multiple versions of it - my online research shows 3 distinct versions for games like GTA3/4, Zoo Tycoon, and Counter Strike. It also appears it might be used for some graphics programs.
If reinstalling the program that is giving you this error you might try downloading a common version of the DLL file from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mss32. You should first try putting the file in the 2 folders mentioned above, then start putting it in the folder with the program that is claiming the file is missing (for instance: C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<account name>\counter-strike source\bin).
I hope this helps!
Try running in compatibility mode right click on the shortcut or exe file go down and select properties and then the compatibility tab and run in windows xp service pack 3. This should get the program to run. Hope it helps
There are no fix to that the windows 7 has a compatibility issue in software, applications or game. I think your game is to old to run on windows 7. The windows 7 compatible only to new games and not very old games.
It could just be that the graphics set in your PC is just not capable of producing the resolutions/operations required for the game as they are set or you maybe need an updated graphics driver. Try reducing the resolution settings in the game(s) if you can. Also make sure that the resoulution screen setting is correct for the size of screen and that you dont have any strange modes set up like trying to output to 2 screens etc.
It's a CD error. Try cleaning the CD with some alcohol and the drive with a laser head cleaning cd. If it still fails to work you could try copying the files on the disc to a folder on your PC or burning it to an iso file and mounting it iwth Daemon Tools. That may help overcome the install error but it's not a certainty.
Hi There, I have the same problem with a game called zoo tycoon. It is probably the amount of ram that you have. If you have less than 2GB of RAM, try upgrading to 4GB and see what happens. And also, try enabling hardware acceleration and see what happens.
if you click on start go to my computer or just computer it will show you how much space you have used and how much you have left :)
you may not have enough space to store it on your computer :)
or the disc is not your computers file type :)
or you can go to my computer or computer again there might be a little logo or a little picture of zoo tycoon next to that it should say somthing like zoo tycoon2 cd rom if there is double click on it :)
Try to Enable Application Compatibility-Mode for the game.
right click your game executeable file then properties
Compatibility, put a x on the box and select xp. apply and ok.
if that doesnt solve the problem try another windows version from the list.
