Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV
I have the Mitsubishi WD-52725 with the same infamous blinking green light. I am wondering if there is a way to correct the problem without sending the chassis back to Mitsubishi. I also live in the Phoenix area. I was told by the repair person that it would not be worth fixing the TV because of the cost of sending it back to Mitsubishi ($825.) vs. the price of a new one. Based on the price I paid for the TV, it is hard for me to consider trashing it. If there is a fix to this TV that is reasonable I would be very interested in repairing it. Please e-mail me at email@example.com
Yes! There is a fix!!
This is an extremely common problem with Mitsubishi tvs old and new. It can be fixed easily and cheaply for those willing to use their hands.
Refer to this guide to replace the capacitors on your DM Power Circuit Board part # 935C9860. You could also have someone else do it for you for $100
Guide for DIY repair: http://hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=32186
Paid Rebuild Service: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=PWB-PM-ASSY+REBUILD+SERVICE
That fixes the problem most of the time.
After replacing capacitors is you still get green light try replacing the EEprom. EEprom board also known as the E2P board is part number 935C978001

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I POWERED IT BACK ON BY UNPLUGGING AND THEN HITTING THE RESET BUTTON. AFTER ONE MINUTE OR SO THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO POWER ON.
I STARTED THINKING WHAT COULD HAVE TRIGGERED THIS AND IT STARTED AFTER WE HAD A SHORT POWER OUTAGE.
I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS WILL WORK FOR YOU BUT I AM ON MY SECOND DAY OF NO BLINKING LIGHT: I WENT TO THE MITSU TV MENU AND RESET MY CLOCK... I PUT IT ON MANUAL SETTING AND RESET TO PROPER TIME AND I HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM. IT'S WORTH A TRY. I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED..
