SOURCE: Triton Electric Shower Temperature too hot

You could have mineral deposits on the temperature probe inside of the unit. If you remove the heater and purchase a bottle of lime and scale remover (lime away) to put inside of it. Let the unit sit full of water and chemicals for 24 hours. Flush out the unit to remove any residue. You may see the water is brown if you have a lot of buildup. Reconnect unit and test your settings. If this doesn't work, install a anti-scalding device, available at a plumbing supply store.

SOURCE: triton electric shower runs cold

hi it sounds as though the thermostat has gone on top of the can assembly, or moreover it has scaled up & the element needs replacing, if thats the case your better off buying a new unit as the cost of the can assembly & the fitting it will be nearly as much, plus witha new unit you'll be getting a 2 yr guarantee?
Just a thought!

SOURCE: Just moved house today, have a sirrus shower 1600- cold water

There is something caught in the hot side of the faucet manifold (main faucet body). You have to remove the trim and guts to access it. Use a flash light and look inside. Hopefully you can find the object. Oh by the way, you need to turn the water off to the whole house to do this. If you don't see anything have someone turn on the water slowly with the valve out of the manifold to rinse out the pipe leading to the valve body. Hopefully it will remove whats in there. If what you see is a white looking material that is stiff but brittle, then it's from the water heater and the water heater needs to be replaced. Sometimes there can be small stones that get "washed" into the lines when the main is worked on within the area of your home. But most likey it's from the water heater. Good luck! Don't forget to turn the water off before you remove the faucet guts.

I have a problem with low hot water pressure can you help would an elec shower help

1) If possible, it is Best to solve pressure problem before installing new shower.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Low-hot-water-pressure.html

2) If the cold water has good pressure, then Electric shower could fix problem ... but shower would have to be connected to the cold water line and not the hot.

3) Seems the expense of adding a electric shower would be greater than having plumber fix low hot water pressure.
Assuming you have access to plumbing pipes, and this is not apartment building.

Low hot water pressure on Moen Single-Handle Shower Only posi-temp shower control. Cold water pressure is fine. Hot water pressure elsewhere in house is ok. Cold it be the cartrige -- lime buidlup, etc.?

I think you are on the right track. The first thing I would do is change the cartridge. While you have the valve apart examine the inlet ports as good as you can to see if there is any mineral buildup. You can use a short length of a small gauge mallable wire to run into water ports to se if you can break anything loose. Another thing you can do is to turn supply stop on slightly while you have the valve disassembled to wash any particles out. Hope this helps you and thanks.

Check for faulty (broken/apart inside) and replace check valve on hot side of tank (top line) between line connection and tank. Stem, spring etc, of new one goes in facing into tank.

Mira mixer cannot balance temp.either scalding hot or freezing cold

I suspect you have gravity fed hot water system and the mixer cannot balance the high pressure of the cold mains against the low pressure of the hot water.
Either install a shower pump. Means installing electrical connections and quite a bit of plumbing
Or a mechanical pressure reduction valve on the cold input pipe to the shower

Hello,
I had the same problem. It was my heater/boiler this one runs my home heating and water. There's a 3 way gateway for central heating and hot water for shower etc. Probaly you got a aire bubble in there. Find the 3 way gateway and give it a knock, the bubble will disapear and the hot water will flow again. I'm sorry for my english but i'm Dutch.

At certain settings the shower shudders. Not air in line as it only happens at certain temperature settings.

That problem you described is called "hammering" and usually happens in older homes that don't have anti-hammer tubes installed on the water valves at each device (sinks, toilets, showers, clothes washer, etc.) When the water is turned on the sudden flow increases the pressure in the lines and when the valve(s) are shut off, you'll get a loud banging sound.

In the case of the shower, it is likely due to the hot water and cold water lines cavitating since cold water is also entering the hot water tank to replenish the hot water you're drawing out at the shower.

It's not economically feasible to go back and rip open all the walls behind every plumbing faucet in your house to install anti-hammer tubes, but you can install a small expansion tank on the main water line where it enters your house to help absorb the pressure variables along with a 18" long "bang tube" that should help eliminate the pipe shudder you're getting.

You might want to get a plumber to look at your particular situation, as it is difficult to be 100% certain as to what exactly is causing your dilemma without seeing and hearing it firsthand. I've provided possible reasons and solutions based on my experience with similar situations.

Hope this helps and best regards!
