SOURCE: I have Philco 841.169 model

about 3% of the time the 'brains' get scrambled, try unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes, sometimes this will 'fix' it.
if so, a power surge from your power company might have got it confused, if the problem continues try a surge protector power strip.

I am trying to play a record on my Aiwa LX-120 turntable but after scanning the record the arm won`t go down.

I'm not certain that you are meant to disengage the FG lock since this means that the turntable has achieved the correct speed. The problem you have is that the arm won't go down.
I don't know to much about the workings of this direct drive turntable. But I can say you can get the service manual free on-line if that helps.

Kenwood turntable no sound?

Are you using a magnetic "PHONO" input on your amp/receiver, or just a line/aux input? The 'good' turntables from the 70's - 80's used magnetic catridges with a very low level output - you will need a phono preamp in order to hear the turntable. Only phonos (Crosly) that use ceramic catridges generate enough voltage without a preamp. Good luck and let me know if that answered your question.

Stanton t.80 Motor produces hum sound when holding the platter to cue. When platter is released the hum disappears. Also is a slight hum on start up. Have opened the turntable and all connections seem to...

Do you keep the platter at one place --> don't you let the platter spin and keep the record at. one place, you are know f.5;5,g your engine and parts.... buy suzuki slipmats and use the plastic rounds of plastic .... i thought by thud rumble too let your table spin when you hold the the platter, otherwise components get to hot

My arm won't lower onto record, the arm lowewring mechinism won't lower

After my THIRD Ion turntable had the arm-lowering problem...

I rotated the platter counterclockwise about 12 times and it worked...for now. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope it wasn't a fluke.

Turntable doesn't start

Probably the belt; it may not be broken but stretched to the point of uselessness. They dry out naturally and suffer more in a smoking household. I've replaced several over the years and when I order, I double it and throw one in the freezer; this will keep them from drying out if tightly packed. There are a couple of sources for these on line.
