How to fix the auto squelch on a cobra li7020wx hand held it is noisey all the time

I have the manual it didnt help to fix problem with the auto squelch

Squelch won't turn off, won't go into power save mode
Power-save mode means the radio is being turned on and off repeatedly, to save power. The radio turns on, & if it hears any signals (i.e., if squelch circuit determines a station is being received), it turns on the speaker; else it turns off again to save power. So, squelch and power-save modes work hand-in-hand, and your problem is squelch circuit is either set too low, or a station is being received by the receiver. Download/look at the owner's manual and adjust the squelch circuit for a higher setting, and it should go into power-save mode again.

Can't break squelch ? Have Uniden Bearcat hand held scanning radi
Look at the squelch knob. If it is turned fully counterclockwise, it is in "Auto". Turn the knob clockwise to enter the manual mode and adjust the range untill static is heard. Reverse direction until the static is no longer heard.

The squelch not working on a cobra 29 wxnw st sound tracker
there are 3 or 4 horse shoe presets inside the radio i suspect that the squelch preset is needing turned up. try turning one up at a time. remember to put it back to where it was if it is not the squelch. use a plastic screwdriver do not go putting metal screwdrivers into your radio in case of shocks. hope this helps you

Yes sir, when u will open the set u can find two potentiometers , one is for tranmitter another for receiver . Try adjusting the same ( second radio should be transmitting ) do not switch one radio without antennae it may burn ..

Cb radio
Go onto google and search Cobra 29ltd schematics and find where the squelch level and your AMC control is at Automatic Modulation Control. It should be Vr4 for the amc turn it up all the way clock wise with the radio facing toward you then back it down so your not over modulating. Then when you find the squelch level you can turn it down to qiuet it down.

Dear sir,
Use maximum range button which is also light button ( keep it pressed for 5 sec ) u will hear a beep , then relase it operate ur radio in High power transmission mode , ( channel 1~7 ) or 16-22 ( ckeck ur country lcense guideline before that ) .

No book looking for help
Hi, Looked for a book thru google, but no luck. I did see where they have an automatic squelch. The auto squelch should keep them quiet till someone keys up.
Features, 14 channel, no GMRS, 1/2 watt output, LCD display, autosquelch, rechargeable battery pack. That's about all I can help you with,, Mechanic good luck.
