1st off you have a lcd plate rear projection system
the images will not burn in from standing there but it always makes sense to not leave it unattended as it shortens the life of your lamp ect

the worst enemy is to not keep the air vents clean as it will fill with dust lent and blc the filter on the optics blick and cause the lcd plates to warp requring a new optic block to correct those problems
hey have a great picture but are pleagued with over heating issues
i have 30 years in the tv repair buisness hop that helped

Always shut game off when not playing it
the only way it will hurt screen is if you leave it on for long periods of time without playing

I have a Mitsubishi wd-60735 TV. it is in an unheated garage. Will the cold winter temperatures damage anything? Do I need to bring it inside?

it used to be an issue from when older projection TV's were fluid cooled , but modern lcd projection tv (like this one) don't have any issues in cold weather other than it will take several minutes till picture comes into focus in extreme cold weather , but should not give any long lasting effects once its up at operating temps one thing though don't move it once its hot during cold weather or lamp light source will go out , one thing that will cause long term problems is if its subjected to high humidity (water) this causes all sort of corrosion problems in sets of all types

Playing Games on HDMI on projetion TV.

Dear aaashleee_x3,
No, it won't hurt your TV. The new games will shut down after a short period of time in the pause mode and the games are fast moving, not like tho old Pac Man games.

Thanks for using FixYa and Merry Christmas, big IRISH.

Is playing video games bad for my TV

Absolutely not. Your set is the safest type of tv to play games on. Plasma sets are the worst type to play games on due to screen burn in. You are good to go.

Lcd screen is broken

Normaly physical damage is not covered by warranties. Some vendors and manufactures sell additional insurance to cover such type of damage. You can also check with your home insurance in case your home insurance policy covers damage to appliances.

The cost of a screen replacement could easily exceed the cost of replacing the complete TV set. This type of service is normaly not done.

Will ps3 hurt philips projection hdtv

Everyone is right. The manuals for both projection TVs and video games specifically warn against playing video games on these sets. The result can be "pattern burn" from parts of the image that stay in one place for extended times. Once the face of a tube is burned by a bright image, it's visible all the time. If you intend to watch this TV, don't play games on it!

Can i play video games on my hitachi projection tv

Playing video games on projection TV's is a very bad idea. It can cause damage to the picture tubes ("pattern burn"). Most projection TV manuals and video game manuals specifically mention you should not do this. Your husband is right.

Samsung lcd tv was knocked over accidently, and screen now is distorted with multiple colored lines, and no picture. Is this fixable.

Not without replacing the whole LCD sreen which can often cost a good deal more than you orginally paid for it. You can certainly get an estimate but your probably better off getting a new tv. Sorry to hear about it.

Gaming on a Mitsubishi WS-55511

MetCom, you can use a video game on any rear projection big screen, heres the issue you DO have to be aware of, if you PAUSE the video game for prolonged periods of time it will PERMANENTLY damage all 3 picture tubes in the tv, so heres the trick, when you need to pause the game for more than 2-3 minutes just shut the tv OFF, you`ll never hurt the tubes this way because they aren`t on, when you come back to the game turn on your tv, un-pause the game and "life is good", been doing it for years and I`m a tv tech so trust me and now you know the real answer, pass it on to others and enjoy, BMW Rider

I don't think you'll have any problems with burn in on a rear projection TV. CRT and LCoS type televisions can have burn in problems

The split screen shadow remains on my 52SWX10B projection TV

Unfortunately, this sounds like the transition between the split screens is now burned into the phosphor of the CRT's and is permanent, unless the CRT's are replaced which would cost as much as a new TV.
