Question about Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

1 Answer

Less suction and high pitch whine while vacuuming

The suction power seemed to be deteoriating so we thoroughly cleaned the chamber, etc. Upon reassembly the suction seems ok when using the extension hose but the main vacuum still seems to not have as much power and there is a noticeable high pitch whine while vacuuming.

Where can I take my Dyson for service in Dayton, OH? Or do I need to ship it somewhere?

Thanks,
Charlie

SOURCE: beater bar on Dyson upright won't turn when handle is lowered

I have finally fixed my sister's dyson dc 15 beater bar problem. It was just 2 tiny broken wires connect to circuit board lead to the beater bar. The wires broke where they go through the black rubber gommet. You need a torx screwdriver tx 15 to remove 2 plastic covers to access the wires. When looking at the front of the vacuum, the gray covers located on the right side of the vacuum. 1 big cover with a black rubber gasket and other small gray cover is on the rotating ball area.
This my new year resolution is to warn people not to buy Dyson vacuum cleaner ( Junk) design to break down! Shame on you Dyson!!!! Save your money find good old vacuum cleaner with metal parts.

OLD IS IN NEW IS JUNK!

Happy New Year!

SOURCE: Very little suction in hose no tears in hose

Hi there, SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au . I have fixed hundreds of Dyson DC07 vacuum cleaners over the last few years and i would say there are 2 possible causes for the loss of suction.
1st is that the filter looks clean but is actually worn anyway. The way to tell is remove the washable filter from your vacuum cleaner. Take out the foam insert this seems to last longer that the other part. Hold up the plastic cage to the light and look at the white part (well it used to be white anyway) you should be able to see light through it. If you cant see through it you need to replace it. Here is a link to that filter for purchase . To verify this is the problem just run the vacuum without the filter in you should see an improvement - note do not actually **** up material the filter is there for a good reason.
2nd problem is that you have a blockage in your radix assembly. If you take off the whole dirt bin and feel the suction on the upright part where the chamber joins the vacuum (basically bypassing the radix) if there is good suction here you will either need to replace the cyclone top or dismantle and clean it. (it is very difficult to clean as it doesn't completely dissassemble)
Hope this helps - If you want more help send me a message
HAPPY VACUUMING ! :)

my theory is based upon 1st hand knowledge with a newer EPA compliant freestanding wood burner, with the air-tight and high efficiency ratings.
its possible that its just the high rate of air moving through the air chambers , similar to a organ pipe.

give it some thought
