Tip: The max point reward for answering a question is 15.
Assuming you have hung up your phone and aren't at home, dial your number and wait for the phone to ring 10 times. You should hear a series of beeps. Press 0 and then your security code. Then press 0 6 within 15 seconds of getting the system to respond to your code. The system returns to standby when there is a delay of more than 15 seconds between key presses.
This works for the Uniden D1680 but works for some other Uniden systems. I know 0 9 turns off the answering system for the D1680. From your handset, you just have to press the mute button, your phone should start telling you the time, date, ect. press the #5 key and then the #8 key and start recording your message. When finished press the # 8 key again. Hope this helps
I had the same problem when I answered my cordless phone static charge went thru me and into my phone and I had now display, so i changed the batteries in the handset and it worked. So I hope this works for you.
